Mandross will hide behind the clerics. Undead are serious business.

"Well, we'll get no information out of that one."

Leo will shoot an arrow at each body to confirm its death. Then, he will carefully inspect the room on his way to check the door which is ajar. Glad his vision does not depend on the flickering flames, he looks carefully as he goes and peers into the darkness beyond.

"Just a random thought here, but wouldn't an undead be up and fighting on two feet rather than leaning against a barrel like someone injured trying to defend himself with his last bit of energy?"

Leo prowls around the storeroom, shooting each of the bodies to make sure they're dead. And, indeed, they do all seem to be genuinely dead (i.e. not undead). All have one or more fatal wounds (in addition to Leo's arrows), and all have a fig-leaf parchment on or around their person.

Perhaps Doughbert's assessment - that your recent assailant was a badly injured Weir gang member desperately trying to defend himself against further attack - wasn't so far of the mark.

Ducking through the southern door and pulling it closed behind him (to prevent Benoni's lantern interfering with his Darkvision), Leo finds a passage heading south. The passage extends beyond the range of his Darkvision (30'). Leo senses no movement down the passage, nor can he hear any sound.

The half-elf continues to scout ahead, stalking slowly and quietly, bow at the ready.

OOC: I want to try and at least scout far enough ahead for the next room or door before returning. at least until the passage ends, if he comes upon a side door or two...

"I will trust your greater expertise in these matters, Brother Doughbert. Mmm, perhaps we' should try to offer up the day's password to the next not-quite-dead person we encounter." Mandross will update his map.

Paladin volunteers to let Doughbert move to the front if the marching order and be crossbow bait in order to chat with whomever we find.

Doughbert assures Paladin that he doesn't mind if Paladin wants to stay in the front and face the unknown.

Leaving the others in the storeroom, Leo creeps through the darkness, down the southerly passageway, using his Darkvision. It continues due south for about 50', before opening up into another room. Yet again, it is a scene of a recent massacre - it is scattered with debris, splashed with blood, and strewn with corpses.

There is a further doorway in the southern wall, but the actual door has been torn from its hinges and is lying on the floor. Beyond, a short (20') passageway ends at a yet another door - a stout looking one that has the now familiar fig leaf design painted upon it.
