Tannen: Enchanted sword.
Hiker: 298 gp.

Will you let Tannen take the enchanted armour (if he want's it), or will one of you nab it from him? Everyone else will get another 298 gp.

True, if the armor can be adjusted to fit dwarven build then Nivek will take instead of going for chainmail in town (at the next draw if nobody else grabs before).
