Re: Season 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
On the off chance the others don't take care of our semi-charmed bandit friend, Karl will slide up a square to try for extra flanky goodness on his attack - and to make sure Doughbert has room.
Regardless, Karl will finish with "That went well..."

Re: Season 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Doughbert whips his bloody blade toward bandit 2, a stream of blood flings off the tip hopefully to splatter over bandit 2. He doesn't strike though, he holds his action and demands, "Surrender or we shall cut off your limbs one by one, starting with the one between your legs!"
If the bandit refuses to surrender doughbert will lunge forward to strike.

Re: Season 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Tannen attacks the remaining bandit, remembering what his mercenary captain taught him: Don't let your enemy goad you in to something foolish. Should Hiker or Doughbert injure the bandit, Tannen strikes to subdue with the flat of his blade. If the bandit remains uninjured, Tannen cede's to the bandit's demand and strikes with a lunging thrust of his long sword, seeking to bury it in the man's belly.
Re: Season 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Paladin, from his position at the intersection, tries to estimate how far the sounds of the battle are traveling, given the closed door and his distance from it. He, of course, also keeps an eye out for intruders.
Bandit Card School - Round 3
Initiative for Round 3
Doughbert: 4 + 2 = 6
Hiker: 5 + 1 = 6
Tannen: 6
Nivek: 5
Paladin: 1 + 3 = 4
Bandit 2: 4
Karl: 2
"Surrender or we shall cut off your limbs one by one, starting with the one between your legs!" threatens Doughbert, holding-back his sword whilst he gauges the bandit's response.
((I'll assume the others similarly hold at this point)).
But, by this time, the remaining bandit is concentrating solely on Tannen and has a slighly manic glint in his eyes. He swings at Tannen with his shortsword, but the fighter blocks convincingly with his shield.
Fighting on, Doughbert thrusts at the poor bandit's nether regions (which happen to be at quite a convenient height for the halfling) ["to hit": 6], but the attack is too low and only finds the air between the bandit's legs.
Events have unfolded a little too quickly for Hiker and he remains standing on the spot, bow string pulled back, wondering whether or not to fire, and failing to recall any advice that Mama might have given him regarding the best course of action in such a situation.
With the bandit still uninjured, Tannen goes for the kill ["to hit": 15, for 6 damage]. Tannen's longsword finds its mark deep within the bandit's belly. Your final foe falls.
From where Paladin's standing, he can hear the sounds of the battle in the room at the end of the corridor, although shutting the door did reduce the noise levels somewhat. Listening hard and checking both tunnels, he doesn't detect any signs that the brief skirmish has attracted any attention from elsewhere in the caves.
Doughbert: HP 5/5. No '0' level spells remaining today.
Hiker: HP 9/9.

"... That went well."
Karl looks around the room, seeing if there's anything of note like big rings of keys, significant valuables, farmer's wives bound and gagged in a corner, secret doors dumping a horde of bandits into the room, or if any of these lads had armor that would fit Hiker. The ususal.

Re: Season 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Doughbert goes to the mouthy bandit and begins searching his person for valuables and anything else of interest, pulling off his boots as well in the search. If the other bodies have been searched when he is done, he will go to the door and look to paladin to see if all is quiet on the passageway front. If paladin gives a thumbs up (or any other sign that all is well) Doughbert will return to the room and begin searching the walls and floor for hidden doors, trap doors and/or compartments.

Re: Season 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Tannen wipes his blade on one of the dead men's breeches, before sheathing it in his own scabbard. He casts a quick look around the room for anything significant.
To the others he says: "I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd rather not be around here when our pony-tailed friend returns. We're here for Alma and can't afford to waste time. Grab what valuables you must, but be quick." With that, he moves to head for the door.

Re: Season 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Paladin sees Doughbert peering owlishly out the door. Paladin leans back into the corridor, away from his hiding spot, and gives Doughbert a reassuring single-fingered sign. Paladin then resumes hiding and watching.
Re: Season 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Nivek helps as he can in the search of the room for clues and such (including using Dwarvish senses for oddities/secrets in any stonework).
Nivek explains quietly, "Hurmph, we gave them plenty of chance to do the right thing. The Forge Lord has little pity for those who forsake honest work for larceny and banditry, and neither should we!"
Nivek retrieves his throwing hammer and looks about for other items that may be of use to the party.

Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?
