The Chase is On

Post Mon Nov 14, 2011 10:01 am

Whilst the two elves escort the surrendered bandits to the cells, and Nivek and Mandross despatch their sleeping colleagues, Tannen, Paladin, Hiker (and Alma) pursue the fleeing Morward.

Initiative for the Chasees
Paladin: 6.
Tannen: 3.
Hiker: 2.
Morward: 2.

Of the party members, only Paladin and Hiker can get within shooting range this round [modified "to hit" rolls: 22 and 20 respectively]. Both hit their target, and collectively they finally bring Morward down.

The crashing and banging to the north continues.

Doughbert: HP -1/5 (stabilised). No '0' level spells remaining today.
Hiker: HP 9/9.
Karl: HP -2/8 (stabilised).
Mandross: HP 4/5. 2 '0' level and no 1st level spells remaining today.
Nivek: HP 6/7. 1 '0' level spell remaining today.
Paladin: HP 3/4.
Tannen: HP 5/9.

Cleaning his dagger on the dead bandit's trousers, Mandross asks Nivek, "What the hell is that banging about?"

"There's another handful of bandits that were guarding the front. We sort of locked them out." Tannen grins as he passes Nivek and Mandross in the corridor. Turning the corner to see Hiker and Paladin's handiwork, Tannen congratulates his two companions "Nice bow-work." Then Tannen's attention turns to the noise from the north.

"I think Morward, might actually be able to help us... If those bandits see him dead as they approach, they might be more inclined to surrender... Let's drag him to the junction, so they can see him as they approach."

Tannen will then make sure Morward is actually dead, before placing his weapons on the ground and dragging the bandit leader to the T-junction of the Westerly and north-south corridors and prop his body up into a sitting position, so that he 'looks' towards the north - the direction Tannen assumes the bandits will approach from.

If there is time, Tannen will do likewise with the dwarf bandit's body, placing it next to Morward.

Upon hearing Tannen's intentions with Morward's body, Nivek nods heartily. "Aye, these brigand bands are loosely held together by strong leadership... seeing their leaders dispatched will certainly be a blow to their morale." He proceeds to help in any dragging of bodies. "Quickly Lads!"
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

Paladin hurries past the chatty dwarf and human and pitter-patters up towards the northern entrance to the caves. He'll pause at the entry to the dwarf's room and quickly look in if the door is open. If it is closed, he will continue on to the southern entryway into the stables. He'll quickly peek around the corner to see if anyone is in the stable and if Morward and his men stabled their horses.

Mandross nods at Tannen's plan, "Good thinking."

Mandross dashes back to Doughbert, to make sure he's stable, and tries to get him a little more comfortable. "Hold on, friend. You rest for now."

He takes a few moments to look into the southern room, and see if there's someplace comfortable for the wounded to rest.

Well-Drilled Adventuring Machine

Post Wed Nov 16, 2011 7:55 am

You go about your business in an efficient manner, like the well-drilled adventuring machine that you are.

Between them, Tannen and Nivek put both Morward and the dwarven bandit "on display" at the southerly end of the main north-south tunnel.

Paladin checks the dwarf bandit's cave and finds it empty (apart from the corpses of course). The stable cave is also unoccupied - no horses or hiding bandits.

Mandross investigates the cave to the south of the prison cell intersection. Apart from a table and a few chairs, this doesn't appear to have been used as a living space like some of the other caves you've found previously. Certainly there are no beds, bedrolls or other comforts that might alleviate the pains of an injured colleague. There is, however, a closed door in the west wall of this cave.

Calebrindur and Rerion rush to the side of their fallen comrade. Finding him dead, they lift him respectfully from the cave floor and begin to make their way to the exit. "Tannen - we are in indebted to you and your colleagues. Right now, we must leave these caves, return to our forest, and see that our friend Glondil is sent safely on his final journey. But should you ever visit our woodland realm, you would be honoured guests." And with that, the elves depart.

Alma makes it clear to Hiker (in no uncertain terms) that she would really like to go home right now. In her opinion, waiting around for more bandits (or goblins, or dire wolves, or worse) to arrive sounds like a recipe for disaster.

The banging, meanwhile, continues.

Doughbert: HP -1/5 (stabilised). No '0' level spells remaining today.
Hiker: HP 9/9.
Karl: HP -2/8 (stabilised).
Mandross: HP 4/5. 2 '0' level and no 1st level spells remaining today.
Nivek: HP 6/7. 1 '0' level spell remaining today.
Paladin: HP 3/4.
Tannen: HP 5/9.

OOC: And how...

Hiker nods, "Yes ma'am." Looking around he trots to the cave entrance and calls to his adventuring mates, "I'm taking Miss Alma home now." And then proceeds to lead Miss Alma back the way they came.
