"Yes, but let's be quick and quiet about it. I'll watch that other door"
Tannen will take up a position, with a loaded crossbow, outside the room where the chest will be 'investigated'.

Doughbert will return to the cherst room, listen again, check inside the door for traps then push it open, he'll glance around the room for anything dangerous or valuable, check the ceiling, then move to the other door and listen there. If he hears nothing he will move to the chest, check it for traps (remove if possible) and see if its locked. If locked he'll check to see if one of the keys fits it, if not he'll attempt to pick the lock.

Nivek does his part to search about for secret doors (using Dwarf stone senses when applicable).

With whatever armaments Mandross acquires (or not), he will (quietly, for once) join the others across the way. Leaving the affairs of locks and chests to the mechanically inclined, he will look at the papers on the desk - briefly - and tuck them in his jacket for safe keeping.
As it will take Doughbert a little time to work his magic, he will also help search the room, working in tandem with Nivek to cover more wall.

Whilst Tannen leads Hiker, Alma and the elves to join Paladin back at the intersection, the others investigate the cave opposite the prison block.
Inside the cave, Doughbert listens at the door in the southern wall [rolls], but doesn't hear anything.
Investigating the chest, Doughbert discovers it to be untrapped, but locked. Retrieving the bunch of keys from Tannen, he manages to find one that fits and turns in the chest's lock. Inside the chest, sitting beneath a wide-brimmed hat with a vibrant green band, Doughbert finds three rather splendid looking long bows with quivers, three similarly well-crafted short swords, three sets of dyed-green leather armour, and three leather satchels. There's also a rather lumpy looking backpack and a wooden staff (it's quite a large chest, obviously!).
Whilst Doughbert investigates the chest, Nivek and Mandross search for secret doors [rolls], but don't uncover any in the short time available to them. Taking the papers on desk, Mandross finds that they are a collection of annotated maps of the surrounding region.
Doughbert: HP 3/5. No '0' level spells remaining today.
Hiker: HP 9/9.

Mandross: HP 5/5. 3 '0' level and 1 1st level spell remaining today.
Nivek: HP 6/7. 1 '0' level spell remaining today.
Paladin: HP 3/4.
Tannen: HP 5/9.
~6.00 pm, 28th day of Harvestide.

I've no idea what you've got in mind here. But you could break one of the legs off the chairs surrounding the map table (might be a bit noisy), and I'm sure one of the others will have a sack or a blanket.

Doughbert frowns at the contents seeing that its only gear belonging to the folks we just freed. No loot or heal pots. He'll get the talkative prisoner's attention on the chest then he'll go check the other door again. Kisten, check it for traps, see if its locked, unlock with a key or pick if neccessary then crack it open.

Mandross goes over to see what Doughbert has uncovered. Seeing the missing gear, and his hat, he smiles and whispers
"Ah, there it is. thank you, sir." Mandross retrieves his hat, and the rest of his gear, and motions Calebrindur (the lead elf) over as well.
As Doughbert has moved on to the door, Mandross will shift his attention, and try to get Nivek's attention as well - in case what's beyond the door proves troublesome.

I was looking for something with which to defend myself. It's not necessary now. Who needs a sawed-off chairleg club when you have the awesome brass-headed walking stick? The sack thing was for putting
Mage Hand to use in combat.

Paladin eyes Alma's hands appraisingly. He also gestures the elves to go get dressed.
