That's right. The riders came from the unexplored south-westerly path. You took the north-westerly path this morning.

Paladin continues to watch the entrance of the cave, trying to note changes in the guards.

Nivek keeps vigil as well, looking for a moment of opportunity. He feels unsure of what we will be doing next. He mutters a brief prayer for the Forge Lord's blessing.

Once we have checked the main entrance, Tannen will lead the group back down the other trail to check out where the riders came from. Hopefully a back entrance.

Doughbert will go along with Tannen but will stay in the trees out of sight

Whilst Paladin continues to monitor the northerly cave entrance from the safety of the surrounding trees, the others creep along the unexplored south-westerly path in the direction the riders just came from.

As you approach the cliff face from the trees, you see that the path does indeed lead to another cave entrance. However, it can't really be described as a "back entrance" as it is similarly guarded by four crossbow-wielding bandits (three humans and a halfling). You estimate that this second entrance is approximately 50 yards due south of the one you visited this morning.


Doughbert: HP 5/5. No '0' level spells remaining today.
Hiker: HP 9/9.
Karl: HP 8/8.
Nivek: HP 7/7. 2 '0' level spells remaining today.
Paladin: HP 3/4.
Tannen: HP 9/9.
3 pm, 28th day of Harvestide.

Tannen looks the bandits over carefully, examining their armour and trying to gague their level of training. Tannen also examine the terrain, looking for any advantage that might be had and how much open ground there is between cover and the cave entrance. After a short while in study, he whispers to his companions:

"Do you think we should chance attacking them? We'll need Paladin's bow if we do..."
