So, whilst Hiker has Tannen's nemesis pinned firmly to the floor, Karl leaves to retrieve his sergeant from the tree outside.

Paladin is outside the goblin's room with his bow ready should it somehow escape and make a break for it.

If there's going to be any meaningful interrogation of the goblin, it's going to have to be undertaken by Nivek.

((I'm currently working my way through the game's waiting list to try and find a replacement for swirler ... I hope to find someone who can take over Doughbert, at least until the end of this adventure))

Nivek: HP 4/7. No ‘0’ level spells remaining today
Tannen: HP 5/9. Suffering from 'fear'.

Nivek approaches the Goblin and proceeds to reinforce Hiker's hold on him while saying, {goblinese} "we really just want to get answers. Where is the Human female, 'Alma' that you abducted recently? We can do this the nice way... or we can do this the hard way"

[ooc] Nivek will knock the snot of the goblin if anything resembling magical incantations are muttered. Otherwise, he will let the goblin try to answer. Anything like a yell will bring on a swift punch to his ugly face too. Being a racial enemy, Nivek is not too conflicted about the treatment of goblins (even as a cleric). We might see a "jack bauer" situation if he does not quickly cooperate.

{common language} "He is going to assist us or he is going to regret being part of this abduction" Nivek assures the remaining group.

She's Gone ...

Post by JoeCarr28 »

"Hah ..." sneers to the goblin, a cruel smile spreading across it's face, "... she's gone. Left this morning. So you're too late. Now, let me go and you might just make it out of here alive before the guards arrive."

Again the goblin wriggles violently in an attempt to break free. [Rolls]. But Hiker holds firm, and the goblin remains firmly pinned.

Hiker is tired of the situation and tired of all the writhing and wriggling.

"What'd he say, huh?" Hiker asked. "I'm a might tired of all this wriggling, bout to choke him out" Hiker says through a sneer and squeezes tight around the goblin's throat.

Nivek roughly translates, "he says they took her somewhere else."

{goblinese} "Where did they take her?... Where did they take her?!" Nivek demands of the goblin as he is squeezed further by Hiker. Nivek demonstratively gets out rope to bind the goblin. Nivek also points at the exit to this chamber, {common} "watch for more goblins coming at our backs."

Assuming there is time, Nivek will proceed to tie up the goblin tightly (with Hiker's assistance). If the goblin does not answer with location/direction of Alma, then Nivek will gag the goblin. "perhaps it will be a hostage exchange then??," Nivek mutters to his comrades.

The goblin clears its throat as if preparing to speak, but instead spits in the face of Nivek. "That's all you'll get from me" it says.

It continues to struggle whilst Nivek binds and gags it, but it can't overcome the combined restraint of the human and the dwarf.

As he binds the goblin, Nivek notices that it has two distinctive pieces of jewellery on its person. The first is a silver amulet on a thong around its neck. The amulet is the same shape as the tattoos sported by all the goblins (including the shaman). It also has an oversized ring on one finger, gold set with a murky brown gemstone.

Nivek removes the Amulet from the Goblin, "This has some significance. Lets search the room." Nivek will toss it into his backpack (along with the ring) for the time being.

Nivek will move to watch the corridor so that our experts at going through others' belongings can do their thing. "My darkvision will be better for watching the corridor."

"Sergeant Tannen," Karl called as quietly as he might, "you've been spelled! Snap out of it! Get outa the tree. Yer a sittin' duck for an archer!"

Hiker assists Nivek in searching the shaman's room for anything of interest, including the possibility of secret stores and such.

Assuming enough time has passed for the fear to subside...
Tannen heard a far-off voice calling to him quietly as his eyes slowly opened it dawned upon him that he was clinging altogether too tightly to a tree...

...and he was quite a ways up off the ground.

Within a few moments, Tannen shook off the delirium that had overcome his mind and he managed to piece together his fragmented memories along with Hiker's description of him having been "spelled".

Realizing what had transpired over the last several minutes, Tannen slowly descends from the tree and retrieves his sword and torch.
