OK, I'm back. Hope you all had a nice Easter weekend. My goblins are all fully rested and ready to resume hostilities.

Can someone bring me up to speed on carrying capacity of pouches, sacks, and chests vis-a-vis the weight of coinage in BFRPG? The 1000 coin sack has me trying to figure this out.

a coin is approximately 1/10 of a pound, so all the coins way 100 pounds. If that's too much weight we can dump the copper.

5 coins take up approximately 1 cubic inch, so 1000 coins is 200 cubic inches or approximately 6" x 6" x 6", so that probably wouldn't even fill 1/2 of a small bag.

So coins are about the size of a US quarter. Ok. Are we assuming that the bags are made of leather or such so they can hold the weight? I mean, 100 pounds in 6 cubic inches is pretty intense for the material not to rip and tear. I'm fine with it (suspension of disbelief and all), but since Paladin doesn't weigh much I'll seriously consider things like sneaking around by being carried in a sack and such.

This had me wondering as well. The module that I am loosely following for this part of the game, as it is written, says all these coins were contained "in a bag". Given, as Hyway states correctly, they will weigh in excess of 100 lbs (close to 50 kgs for any Europeans playing) a "bag" seemed to be stretching it somewhat, so I changed it to a "sack". Judging by Hyway's volume calculation, let's say a smallish, reinforced sack. It's not crucial. I guess the point is that you have a lot of coins in a container. You can take them if you can carry them - the weight might be the limiting factor

Whoohoo, hands in the cookie jar. This should be fun... will reason rise to the surface or will it become a free for all.

Doughbert is a follower of 'Master Loche', the lord of security, protection and stealth. To leave behind gold that has been justly liberated goes against his religion.

As a player, I know that the loot might possibly be there when we come back for it, but to Doughbert to protect what is yours is divine, and to leave it undefended is a heresy.
