Re: BRANDON of ARKANEA
Jumping across to that island will be a move action and looting the body another once, so that will be your whole turn.
Jumping requires a sucessful dex roll (roll under). Please make it with a bonus of minus 4 (you want to roll low).

Re: BRANDON of ARKANEA
Ok, I rolled a -2 to jump. (1d20-4= 2-4)

Re: BRANDON of ARKANEA
You reach the island and claim the ingot. The man seems to be dead. Humans in the stands are calling for the gnomish referee to blow the whistle, but he doesn't.
The troll picks up a lump of ballast and hurls it at you. He hits you, and does 4 hit points.
I believe you have 7 in total, so you are still alive. What do you do? There is still treasure to be gained form this encounter, but you do not know what to do to end it, even though you have killed your opponent.

Re: BRANDON of ARKANEA
Ok, I'll sprint to s15 to get out of ballast log range.

Re: BRANDON of ARKANEA
You've moved 8 squares to S15. That's pretty much a normal move, not a sprint.
The troll was all set up to throw another piece of ballast at you but as soon as you get off the bridges and onto the edge of the pond, the whistle blows, and the troll gets zapped with a magic missile. It drop[s the ballast and howls in annoyance. Everyone in the crowd laughs as it begins to regenerate.
You can have 500 exp for the fight and a reputation point.
You also got an ingot. That will either get you another reputation point, or an extra 250 exp.
Tell me your decision and I'll move you on to the next fight.

I'll take the xp.

Re: BRANDON of ARKANEA
Can I use rep points to get a specific weapon?

Re: BRANDON of ARKANEA
Yes - that would be OK. But it only count for one fight though.
You talk about it with the guards and they say "not for this fight. You wouldn't want a halberd where you are going next..."
(I presume you wanted the halberd, right?)

Re: BRANDON of ARKANEA
Yeah but I'll take their advice.

Re: BRANDON of ARKANEA
Your next fight is in "The Pit".
This is an actual pit, a 20' square, with metal ladders on all 4 sides.
You cannot see the bottom. There light up the to extends 30 foot in bright light and another 30 foot in dim light. Beyond that is darkness.
You have no armor and 2 daggers.
A magical metal eye is following you. You think what it sees is being broadcast to spectators you cannot see.
"Down you go, chuckles", say the guards. They have whips and prods, as usual.
Your move. You can climb the ladder at 20 a round. You can try to move 40, but you will need to make a dex check or you will fall off the ladder.
