After observing the crowd for a while, Arkus moves to the counter and buys himself another ale. He then takes the tankard to the table where his companions are and sits down with a sigh: "What a dour lot. Back home, you can walk into a tavern at any time of day and be sure to find at least a bunch of tattooed sailors, a disreputable magician, or a master thief."

Arkus slowly drinks his ale and will also go to sleep when Barros leaves for the room, unless something interesting happens.

Well, Friends.. I believe its time to turn in for the day. Should be quite a bit going on at the festival tomorrow. We could always leave for other parts if nothing catches our fancy.

With that, Barros drains the last of his ale and heads for the room to enjoy some sleep on something other than the hard ground for a change.

Phelan lingers with her ale a little longer and observes the goings on in the common room.

More travellers arrive as the night goes on, and the common room remains busy late into the night. Most of the travelers which arrive seem to be villagers from other nearby villages, though there are also some merchants mixed in with the lot.

Later on, when the activity in the common room is dying down as more people head up to their rooms, Phelan observes a traveler entering the inn who stands out from the others. They wear a hooded brown cloak, and Phelan can see the glint of the pummel of a sword, sheathed at their belt.

The traveler moves over to the counter, and orders some food and drink. At this point, Phelan can tell it is a man, though he has a slight accent that does not sound local. More like that of someone from a different region of the Principalities, though she can't hear him well enough to discern much more about his accent.

The traveler also inquires after a room for the night, but the innkeeper shakes his head and replies that the inn is full. The traveler turns to his meal after this, showing no visible sign of displeasure.

Phelan's curiosity is piqued and she takes her long empty tankard and moves to the counter. "Another ale if you please," she says to the innkeeper, "Good evening." to the hooded traveler.

The companions sleep well, and the night passes uneventfully. However, they are awakened early in the morn by the sounds of chaos and screaming from somewhere out in the village. It is still rather dark (as the sun has just begun in to peek over the hills), and difficult to determine what is going on, but it seems that something is afoot in the village square.

Phelan grabs her battle axe and sling and stones and heads out of her room and into the village square.

Barros will put his chain mail on as quickly as possible, then grabs his shield and sword. He also wakes Arkus, if not already awake, and then heads for the village square, watching for any of his companions as he goes.

(OOC: If the process of putting on his chain mail would take very long then Barros will opt to just grab the shield and sword. I am not certain how long it would take to put the chain mail on.)

Arkus has a fairly light sleep unless he drinks heavily, so the noise wakes him quickly.
He dresses in a hurry, not bothering to put on his armor, but making sure to have his floppy hat and weapons.
As he sees Barros hesitate whether to put on his armor: "Do you need a squire, Sir Barros?"

OOC: If Barros decides to put on his armor, Arkus will help. Else, he will accompany Barros to locate the source of the commotion.

Phelan is wearing leather armor (she doesn't usually take it off to sleep).
