I like games loose and fun. I try to stick mainly to the rules but will sometimes tweak things for the sake of the story. I try not to railroad (often).
I do like to generally keep it in the realm of realistic fantasy (e.g. physics work like the real world, you cannot carry around 500lbs of gear, etc).I am not a big stickler on encumbrance but stay within reason and if you plan on carrying 2,000cp around make sure you think about how you are doing it. I may suddenly ask for details on how you plan on doing that.
Notes on food, torches, etc. We will track these during the game to some degree but this can easily be offset by actually doing a little planning. I am not into resource gaming so I am not going to track minutes and seconds your torch lasts but I will tell you when a torch flutters out or you are thirty. So plan ahead.
