As Ranald leaned close to listen at the door, it opened suddenly, and he found himself face-to-face with a crowd of little dog-faced humanoids. They seemed surprised to find him there...
Ranald has a surprise round to act in. No one else knows what's going on at this point.

The dwarf will use the surprise round to run back to the rest of the party, sounding a warning of sorts.
Blizzers! The doggy boys are coming! Yow! Ware!
OOC - His move rate 12", so two thirds of that will get him to H1, hopefully far enough away so he doesn't get killed!

As soon as she hears Ranald's alarm, Faylen will freeze and listen for any other sounds near or far.
Rowan twitches visibly at the sudden noise but then turns around and hurries back to support the dwarf (move to F2 if possible).

OOC - also not sure if we get to act immediately, but Hengist will move up beside Rowan at F2, halberd out.
We're a sitting duck for missiles, stood here, he says when Rowan is beside him. We should move up and take the junction as soon as we can.

Tertullian moves to support Rowan and Hengist (F2). We should perhaps prepare a formation my friends.
Neirin begins to twirl his sling and moves to G1, prepared to catch the first dog-man who might follow after Rowan. No Nettleby would be caught caught by no doggy boys!

As soon as they can act, Bothan will try to block the door so the party don't get swarmed and try to keep the monsters away with his pike.
Alphonse will get in the back, dagger in hand, afraid and ready to run away if needed.

I've updated the map to show everyone's movement; however, I'm not clear on what Alphonse and Bothan are doing. mteasdale, please review the map and give me coordinates. Note, in case I was unclear, that the monsters were sighted at I6.

Rowan peers into the darkness while he replies to Hengist and Tertullian both: "This is indeed an unfortunate position, but we could not let them occupy this room. Shall we rush them if they come into sight?"
If Bothan makes any attempt to close and spike the door at I1 Faylen will slip back into the corridor: "Let me help you - from the outside!"
