Ranald had moved to F5, and then attempted to sneak up to the door at H6, to listen.

I don't know how far he got in doing that, but it's what he wanted to do.

Hengist would be at about H1 - he was in the rear, as the party started to enter the room to the east of there.

Yes, 10' squares. Typically up to 4 characters per square, more if you are crowding, but hard to fight that way.
