Seeing as you lit the torch in one round and then prepared the gourd of oil in the next, I will allow that.

Please bear in mind that the powder horn is 20 feet from you, next to the hatch, behind the pirate priestess. If you mess up the shot and the splash spills onto the powder horn, kaboom! Be careful with that.

I hope the poison is weak, not slow-acting.

I'll rush upstairs and if possible, attack Kanya with my greatsword.

Jaali will back up 30 feet and throw the flask of oil at Kanya. I know I'll take a parting shot, but it still seems safer.

An interesting round...

Jaali was not engaged, actually. He moves back and lobs the flaming oil gourd. Kanya laughs and sidesteps easily and it rolls into the cube.

Kanya again casts blinding darkness in Jaali's eyes. He saves easily, again!

Sonja the pirate killer rushes up the stairs and scans the room. She can see Kanya Jayde, and rushes her from behind. Her attack is a resounding hit and she does the pain priestess TEN hit points of damage!

There is now a pool of flame in the middle of the room from Jaali's oil gourd, which has ignited. Jaali can see it behind the two combatants in the doorway.

New round - - - re-stating the original initiative order:
Jaali 7 - what do you do?
Kanya 6 - will probably turn to face her attacker and then attack or cast
Sonja 5 - what do you do?

Kanja sees the halfling load up and turns around to face Sonja.

"The pirate king Bo Zeya will reward me richly for bringing YOU!" she snarls, and attacks with her lit up great flail. The resulting hit does 11 hit points damage.

Sonja attacks and also hits, doing only 4 hit points.

It's shaping out to be a great contest but, close to the end of the round, the powder horn explodes.

Yes, the burning oil did roll right next to it and lit the fuse. That's how the rolls went.

Sonja fails her save vs. death and takes 47 hit points damage. She has now taken about 67 in total. Pieces of her mutilated body fly all over the room. Her oil and whiskey also catch fire. She's history. :(

Kanya also fails her save. She is roasted inside her suit of armor, which falls over in the doorway, with smoke coming out of it. Her death is quick, denying her all the pain she craved in life.

As Jaali watches on in horror, someone behind him shoots at him and hits him, doing 11 hit points.

Jaali, you are the only one left in this combat and you have initiative.

Oh god, I feel really bad. I'm sorry for this, dodn't think that the flask could explode on the next round...

Longman, can I see who shot me ? Can I see YC somewhere ?

DM: Your chance of having the oil flask miss and roll exactly onto the square containing the powder horn was about 1 in 20, and that's what happened. The horn made its initial saving throw and did not explode straight away, but failed the second one and blew up. It was very unlikely but it did happen.

Jaali - you turn and there's a pirate about 40 feet away, with partial cover behind a smaller cube. He just shot you with a rifle, nat 20. You cannot see YC.

You are loaded and could fire, or take cover.
