OK - round 6 and 7 - Kanya fires and does 3hp to the uninjured one. Then in round 7 she reloads and states in amusement at the sight of the sea serpents trying to locate and eat the invisible elf. In round , Apinya also reloads. The monk and thief are not present.

The serpents win initiative and have 2 final attacks before the elf safely scrambles up out of their reach.

Both the sea serpents hit! Saracen is in line of 4d6 damage! But the damage dice gods smile upon him and takes a mere 7 hit points from the encounter. He is on 10! He also manages to hold on to the pier, and by the end of the round he is on top of it, and in safety.

Round 8 - the serpents are no longer a threat. The floating mass (island) is still in the water to the north east. What do Saracen and Kanya do?

Others - please see the OOC thread.

"You found something. Too bad they didn't die." Kanya says mirthlessly. "Come, untie yourself and let's get off this pier."

Kanya is unarmored and not looking forward to the serpents attacking the pier itself. Once off the pier, Saracen can debrief her and Apinya.

If nearby saracen will recover his rifle and shoot at the serpents.

Saracen - your rifle can be nearby - - but the serpents have gone under by the time you get it.

Mysterious island still in view to the north-east.

I have you heading back along the pier towards Teruk's group right now. Kanja is asking questions about what you saw down there.

Also, Kanya will get a few looks at that small moon^H^H^H^H island as she suits back into her armor. Once armored, let's head back to the others -- and she won't stop for any quivering warriors who ran.

ed: I meant the villagers there, not Saracen.

Kanya can't really see much of the floating blob / island. The best sighting was actually made by the sea-elf's familiar eagle Altair, while he was flying over the beach / pier.

Jaali is with the villagers on the beach when Saracen appears on the pier. He notices that Teruk looks terse as the elf appears, and one other younger warrior is openly disappointed.

The pirate characters reunite with all the villagers on the beach. Teruk says:

We have seen such floating lands before. Huge rafts, they are, made by the Zargh, and sometimes stolen by the lizard people. Sometimes they have monsters to tow them. Perhaps it is these monsters that have attacked your friend. It seems now that there is no chance to explore this wreck. We really should be going to Maju now...

You can role-play at this point or just get to Maju's camp and get going from there.

This seems like something Herr Kapitan would be interested in. What a disappointing loss, not to be able to get a better look at the magical stones.

"Teruk, how many lizard creatures could fit on such a raft? How many of the serpents would tow such a raft?" (And so on -- do they carry cannons etc)

There are numerous conversational avenues at this point:

Teruk: I don't know exactly how many of the brutes can fit - perhaps several dozen? And I don't know about the charmed sea-monsters either. They do not have cannons, no. Grappling hooks, maybe a ballista? Who knows? And why do you care? Let's get out of here.

Saracen: Kanya, get me out of here! Just you, me and Apinya, and maybe that hairyfoot as well. We'll take our chances. I can't be around these villagers, they are clearly trying to kill me! Or maybe we could say we no longer need them?

With that, the big monk comes bounding out of the dunes and down onto the beach. He's just been checking on Maju, he says.

More role-play on the beach, or you are reunited and moving on. Your call.

"I'm not sure about your plan Saracen. Teruk and his men know this island more than us. Leaving them behind could lead us straight to death, or even worse."
