Jaali will check the pressure plate for traps, and if there is none, he will ask Yuan-Cheng to press it with his staff.

Maju looks at the scroll and calls a halt to Teruk's men, and to Kanya's group. He says, "There's some magic writing on this scroll. It will take me a day or so to decipher it, but it might provide a way out for our trapped companions. That is, if they can last a day in there. They should have food and water for much more than that. And then, of course, there's no guarantee that any of these spells will be of help. But it might be worth trying anyway." He looks at Kanya and says, "What do you think?"

OOC: Is the door completely sealed? Or could a piece of paper be slid into the room through an edge or gap?

"I say we bash them out. If there's anything that investigates, it'll probably start on the other side of that door, where your friends are. It'd take fine hearing for anyone up here to hear us working the door open. Let's take Teruk's men down -- they can bash the door open while Saracen guards our exit." She doesn't add the obvious -- that keeps the two separated.

The little halfling thinks the trap here has already been sprung - that is, the pressure plate in front of the stair door was activated when he sprung the main one, previously. The two mechanisms must be linked under the floor, somehow.

He's pretty sure there is no other trap on the pressure plate, in addition. He's not entirely sure, though. But overall, he is uncertain what triggering this pressure plate will actually do. Most likely, nothing.

Maju - the door is not entirely sealed. There are small cracks at the top and bottom.

Teruk's men were preparing to go down the well. Maju, do you agree that they should be reassigned to go down the stairs and help carry the concrete beam into the hall of the apes, instead?

What do we have to lose?

YC will press down on this plate with his staff.

Well, that's anti-climactic. There is a faint movement, but Jaali is now certain that the trap has already been activated. Nothing further happens when you poke the plate.

Keep it coming, guys.

Let's search for secret doors down here.

Maju takes out his scroll cases. He places the new magical scroll into the case with his other remaining magical scroll. From the other scroll case, he removes one of his pieces of paper. Then he casts Continual Light on the paper, causing it to glow, even in the sunlight. He folds the paper and tucks it into his pocket with plans to slide it under the crack in the door in hopes it will provide better light for his trapped companions.

Maju puts his scroll cases away and turns to Teruk, "I would be most appreciative if your men could help to move this stone column down the stairs so that we can try to break in the door that has our friends trapped. We'll see if that has any hope of working before we explore the cavern."

Jaali will do the same with Yuan-Cheng.

Teruk and a few of his men begin to assist with the lugging of the concrete beam. This makes it somewhat faster.

Maju slides the 'lighted' sheet of paper under the door, as stated. There is considerably more light in there than previously.

The search for secret doors is...unsuccessful. You manage to determine is that the walls of this place are very thick and there seem to be no hollow spaces at all.

We can move forward to the door smashing now unless anyone has anything else to add?
