The door down to the south appears closed, and probably locked. Jaali has picked several such locks before.
(Do you guys need a map or is the description enough?)

Checking for traps.
If there's none, picking the lock.

There do not seem to be any traps on the door.
The little thief's attempt to pick the lock is a success. The room beyond is of identical size (20x20) and contains not much other than a flight of stairs down into ground.
There is a skeletal body in rags on the floor, right in front of the door.

"Does one of you have a spear, staff or anything with a long reach ? We're not entering this room before we can poke the skeleton there. I have a bad feeling about this."

I have this staff.
YC unwraps the staff carried by the undead monks and pokes the skeleton with it.

The monk's sword grumbles in protest. Master, I have told you before about that dreadful staff..
Nonetheless, it makes a decent prodding tool. The skeleton is prodded, and crumbles. It was wearing Athyan (Chinese) type robes and sandals - not a monk, but a traveller of some kind. Perhaps a former adventurer. The remains of a torch is in its grasp - the same type you found on the floor just outside the door, in the main hall.
The thief and monk both spot a ring on the finger of its left hand. There may be other items in the remains of its clothing.
You still have not entered the room.

As it haven't made a slime fall from the ceiling and the floor haven't collapsed, Jaali will enter the room and loot the skeleton.

YC will follow Jaali and try to take a look at the ring before it gets pocketed. Any symbols on it the monk may recognize?

Both the tall monk and the tiny thief enter the room.
Almost immediately, the door starts slamming closed behind them, activated by some plate in the floor.
You missed the trap.
The big monk, who was entering second, succeeds in his saving throw. He has the option of getting back out the door, or staying with Jaali.
Jaali himself was in the act of bending down to loot the crumbling body, and fails his save. He is definitely trapped in the room.
Which of you was carrying a light?

Is there any chance that Kanya can prop the door open with her maul?
DM: No. Only those who went in to the new room got an opportunity to act / not get trapped. You were probably still looking at the monkeys or something.
I'm taking single instructions at the moment and assuming that character has moved on. If I wait for everyone to post it's too slow.
