This place is pretty creepy, but I suggest we continue on as wealth may lie ahead. I do not know if the creature was capable of feeling pain but if it was, it did.

These were monks. I will go on.

Yuan-Cheng opens the door and enters.

DM: (Really not sure why he thinks they were monks, but OK..)

"Seems like we agree one more time, Yuan-Cheng. And still again, not for the same reasons."

Jaali wants loot. Jaali follows YC.

It looks like Teruk wants to leave, I would be ok with that. But I think that Maju may want to do the talking, it'll make more sense RP wise. In any case, with all the stolen stuff Jaali is carrying, he will be glad to see Teruk gone.

The room beyond is 20x20 - I'll draw it on later. There is an archway and a door in the southern wall.

It looks like nothing has been in here in many hundreds of years. 4 large slab tables are in the middle of the room and the remains of 4 monkeys lie on these. Large glass cylindrical tanks, about 8' high, are partly full of some kind of clear liquid. Rubber tubes leading from these are sticking into the arms of two monkeys. The other two are not being intubated in this way.

Around the edges of the room are various items:

Keys
A Book
A scroll tube

Jaali also estimates that the silver ornamentation on the glass cylyndrical tanks is worth about 200 gp if removed.

Don't touch the cylinders, Jaali. I have a bad feeling about them. Let's grab the rest and look in the other room.

Just to be clear - only the thief and monk have gone in.

Kanja is below, with Apinya. Both wish to leave.

Maju is still outside talking to Teruk, who says:

Master mage, we would glady be free of your service. But what about your steed, Kyo. She is outside and getting skittish, if you go too far from her.

Also, there is a matter we have been meaning to talk with you about. The little hairy man stole from us, back at the village. He has ceremonial knives in his backpack that he took from the temple. We have known for some time, since the priestess gave me one of them. But we have not wished to break trust with you. Some of my men have wished to kill him. But I have held them back. If we are to leave, I'd ask that these items are returned to us.

Does this mean that Maju is outside? If so, he went up the stairs? Sorry, I'm not following. :|

No, it means he's outside the room that Jaali and the monk just entered. Hes still in the long hall of the apes.

Kanja and Apinya and Saracen are also there, but Teruk is speaking quietly to you alone.

Maju acknowledged Teruk's words, and then sighed. He knew Jaali was a thief. But he didn't know about his pilfering of the tribe's artifacts. He walked to the door leading into the now opened side room, called Jaali over and said in a hushed tone, "Teruk knows you took things from his tribe. It's probably a good idea to give them back. That is, unless you want more enemies on this island. I can tell him that you were just keeping them safe from the ogres, but then you forgot about them."

"Oh ! I had totally forgot about those ! Of course I will give them back... wait... are you insinuating I tried to steal them ? You're kidding me Maju, you know better of me."

Jaali tries his best to look somewhat upset/sincere. (Probably won't work, but I find it funny)

Jaali will then give the stuff back to Maju, keeping only one ceremonial dagger as a little "souvenir".
