"More men never hurts."

After seeing YC and Maju riding the dinosaur without any problems for a few hours, Jaali will try to get on its back too.

Very well...

The dinosaur evidently dislikes the halfling and will not let him ride, the first time he tries. If you force the issue you could end up giving her an additional save against the charm spell.

You all continue down the road, which is winding through some tall forest, made of giant rain-wood species, with birds and monkeys in large numbers filling their canopies. You begin to descend slightly as you get ever closer to the sea. Again, no encounters befall you.

Teruk is telling you that you nearly at the beach, when those riding on the dinosaur see an alarming sight. It appears that Kyo has become transparent! You are looking down at the ground, through her body. She is also "flickering". You do not fall to the ground, though.

The poor beast also does not wish to continue any further down the path to the sea, and turns and charges off into the jungle instead, to the north-east.

She only goes about 50 yards and then stops, but it's a very bumpy rodeo ride. Maju somehow manages to hold on, but the monk falls to the ground. (Another character would have taken falling damage, but not Yuan Cheng...)

So, the dinosaur will not continue. Whatcha gonna do?

"Interesting... looks like you should continue on foot. Perhaps the beast will await our return." Kanya says as Turdhoof chews on a nearby shrub.

Maju will attempt to calm Kyo as best he can. After she settles a bit, he lets her graze where she's at. At this point, Maju decides to let her graze here as the party goes to retrieve Teruk's men in hopes that she will still be about when they return. He commands Taku to take flight and keep an eye on her until the party returns.

OOC: This is a tough one. I think Maju's inclination would be to stay with Kyo (perhaps with some of Teruk's men) and await the party's return. But that might leave Maju out of a major portion of the story. And besides, he's interested to see if he can decipher whatever magic is causing the great lizard to disappear. So I split the difference and put Taku up to keep an eye on her.

"Well, it was enjoyable while it lasted. Ask Teruk if he knows what magic haunts this area."

You only get about 120 yards down the road on foot when it becomes apparent that Kyo is not going to hang about and wait, unless you (Maju) are there.

She moves hastily away, and it takes Maju another ten minutes to get her back under his control. Luckily, the spell does not break.

Seems like you are going to have to stay pretty close to Kyo, for this to work out.

What now?

Maju will stay with Kyo and let the others proceed. He will also ask Teruk if a few of his men can stay with Maju, since it's not good to be alone in such a dangerous place.

OOC: Spent resources on this dinosaur, so I don't want to waste it just yet.
