That's 4/5. If Maju wants to stay in the village we can always backtrack a bit...

You leave Sulan village at about 10 am and head west along the road with Teruk, 3 warriors and 2 rangers.

You have been travelling a few hours - and are outside the area around Sulan where the dinosaurs never go - when you meet a lone dinosaur, looking like this:

It's about 120 yards away and it's staring at you. It isn't charging you. It's about 20 feet long.

If you want to attack, go for it. Otherwise you could leave it be...

Spaceballs movie quote :)

As for the dinosaur, Kanya will let it go as long as it doesn't charge or have mates in the jungle stalking up on them. No point looking for trouble.

Jaali will get his pistol ready just in case, but won't attack.

That gives Maju an idea. He pulls out his scroll to cast Charm Monster on the dinosaur. Perhaps this creature can give a ride to many in the party. And it won't be as dangerous as the carnivorous beasts.

Maju Charms a Dinaosaur

Post by Longman »

Maju pulls out the scroll given to him by his mentor, back on Kona-Toro - a scroll with a spell originally designed for taming mountain lions so they would not attack goats, without having to kill the lions.

It seems to work well enough on dinosaurs. The creature comes ambling over...and looks at Maju fondly, as if awaiting instructions, or, a pat on the head. As much as you can tell, anyway. She grunts a bit, as well.

What are you going to call her?
Are you really going to try getting folks to ride her?

By the way, this act further increases Maju's high profile with the natives.

Maju looked her up and down and said, "We will name you Kyojin for you are a giant one." He then took out his rope and began fashioning a makeshift bridle for her so he could ride the beast. If that doesn't work, it will make a good leash if nothing else.

OOC: We can call her Kyo for short.

Reaction rolls have been made for mage and monk, and both are now riding on top of the beast Kyo.

She could carry one more, and maybe the halfling too. Do you other guys want to approach her? Kanya is already on the camel.

OOC - this is stretching the spell description a a bit as she would never normally do that, but what the hell, it's funny.

The journey continues down the westward path. The bees have gone. By nightfall you get about halfway down the road towards the place where you will turn north. Nothing happens overnight. The rangers are gathering food so no issue there.

Day 10 - you have another uneventful day travelling 3 hexes. You have reached the place where the villagers say you should go north. However, Teruk says:

Maju...you bring incredibly good luck. I almost cannot believe we have traveled so far with you, and hardly met any giant lizards or other strange creatures. Perhaps you have some magic about you that keeps them away, like the magic that guards Sulan?

I may not have told you this before, but I have a group of men stationed at our favorite fishing spot, which lies at the end of the road. It also has magic that guards against the lizards. Do you mind if we lose a day, and go to collect them? There are 12 of them. I would be happy to take them to the beach and perform whatever service you require. If we do not go, there will be no way for them to know that we have reclaimed the village.

It is now day 11, at 6am. The choice is yours, whether you go north, or make a detour to collect the 12 extra men.

Can you all regain 2 more hit points please?
