Chapter 2: The Land of Sulan

Re: Chapter 2: The Land of Sulan
It doesn't seem terribly sporting, I'm pretty sure we could take them in regular combat. I suppose this way is easier and we have things to do...
"If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants."
Re: Chapter 2: The Land of Sulan
Kanya clearly misses Maju's point. "If we capture some alive, we can take our sport after the attack."

Re: Chapter 2: The Land of Sulan
OOC : Maybe Jaali and Yuan could do a bit scouting before we decide on a plan ?
Re: Chapter 2: The Land of Sulan
"Thank you, Teruk, for the map although I wonder why there is no #8. Jaali, let us scout the perimeter to see if any guards are posted."
Re: Chapter 2: The Land of Sulan
As the sneaky characters scout ahead, Maju will send Taku as an overwatch. Maju will instruct Taku to warn the scouts if they are in imminent danger by flying low and 'buzzing' them. Also, Taku is to return to Maju and report immediately if the scouts are attacked.
Re: Chapter 2: The Land of Sulan
Kanya nods in agreement.

Re: Chapter 2: The Land of Sulan
I'm going to go ahead with the sneaking thing. Just the two PCs - not the village scouts.
The thief and the monk sneak into town, taking a route through the jungle to the north of the west road. (Maju has the sword, which grumbles in Chinese about being left behind).
The pair easily avoid being seen by numerous farmer types who are working in the fields near the town.
Then, as the scout the perimeter, they narrowly avoid being seen by another group of villagers. The villagers were buzzed by the falcon and got distracted, giving the scouts time to hide. (The falcon has used his initiative here. There was no point buzzing the scouts to warn them in this situation).
The two scouts have now dealt with the perimeter and found no guards at all. They have glimpsed the village interior and noticed a large crowd of people (40 or so) gathered around the small temple at number 6. There are sounds of group conversation and digging, and the occasional crack of a whip and some rough loud voices in the Island tongue, which neither of them can understand. It seems as though the people are digging near or under the small temple itself. The rest of the Sulan people are scattered around the village and the fields nearby. You are not sure where the non-ogre bad guys are stationed.
The monk and thief are still at the edge of the village and have not been seen so far. Incidentally, one of the villagers was considering shooting the falcon with a sling, but decided against it. Just warning you.
Now what? You want to bring up the rest of the troops?

Re: Chapter 2: The Land of Sulan
Jaali will lightly poke Yuan-Cheng arm and point him the direction where the rest of the group is. (unless Yuan-Cheng wanted to do something else, I propose that we get back with the party)
To the group, if everything goes fine :
"We made a few interesting discoveries. It looks like the ogres are making the villagers dig under the temple, do you have an idea why they would do that, Teruk ?"
"Otherwise, we didn't see much guards, but I think that to make sure that nobody can flee during our attack, we could cut through the woods and attack by the north-east road near the temple. What do you think ?"

Re: Chapter 2: The Land of Sulan
"I don't think we can stop anyone from fleeing. They know the forest. It is we who may have trouble retreating if needed. I still like torching the place with Maju's fire spirit."
Re: Chapter 2: The Land of Sulan
"I have oil in my backpack. Maybe we can start a fire to create distraction while we attack ?"
