"These crabs are making me crabby!"

Yuan Cheng screams as the crab hits him then runs back to Jaali's crab in an attempt to finish it off.

Do we hear anything new yet?

Kanya will attempt to keep up with Fhajah's run to the temple.

Jaali will try to finish off his crab.

OOC : I'm not too worried, I still have some useful potions.

Round 16-17 - I'm saying Maju starts the climb with Apinya.

Saracen and the pain priestess will run across the top of the temple. They avoid the wide hole into the sunken garden and also see the smaller tunnel leading down into the temple, but they avoid that as well.

Saracen's eagle swoops up and then flies back down again to report: "There are two men flying away to the north across the lake, master. But they are very far, now. I couldn't hope to catch them. They appear to be on some kind of flying object, like a tree branch."

Just then, they reach the end of their run, and see an old islander man, injured, at the top of the cliff. A familiar climbing rope leads downwards. A young girl with a dagger is protecting him. She spies the sea-elf and hisses at him, cursing him in the Islander tongue. Down below, they can now hear the sounds of combat. Peering over, they see the end of round 17 taking place...Jaali is getting beat up badly...

Rounds 16 to 17 at the rear:

R16: Jaali attacks his crab and misses. It attacks him and does him 3hp! Yuan Cheng is now in melee with both crabs and can attack either. He attacks Jaali's crab and misses twice. He gets attacked and missed twice.

R17: Jaali attacks again. He misses again. Yuan Cheng misses twice. Jaali gets hit for another 6 hit points (9 total in this post). Yuan Cheng gets missed twice.

Round 18: Actions please. Maju and Apinya have another round of climbing to do. Saracen and Kanya Jade may act from the clifftop. Jaali and YC are fighting a badly injured crab and one that hasn't got a scratch on it.

There are still two more crabs out in the water offshore, and lots of little ones near the tree roots.

Jaali quaff one third of his potion of gaseous form.

How well tied is the old woman? Can Yuan-Cheng untie her quickly, hoist her over his shoulder and start running? If so, that's what he'll do - run away from the crabs and look for a place to hide.

DM: She was on 6/10 rounds before the battle got too tough and Jaali had to stop. You could cut the rope and hoist her onto your shoulder as one move and then start to run. You would likely get a parting shot on you, but only once.

The beach continues in either direction after the platform. You'd be safer running east - to the west are a lot of baby crabs.

Is there any point to helping the climbers, or will they get to the top either way? Also, how far away is the crab attacking Jaali? Kanya is thinking about taking a shot.

DM: Climbing down would take 3 rounds and it looks like the fight would be over by then. There's a crab making a futile attempt on the halfling's now-gaseous form about 70' below...but this is outdoors, so you'd be in yards - that's actually just over 23 yards. You are in range with the pistol.

Saracen aims with his rifle at the crab nearest yuan-cheng.

(It has to hit sometime right?)

Yuan Cheng tries to grab the unconscious old woman and get her to safety. He is attacked as he moves and takes 5 hit points. He moves to safety with the old woman, running east.

Saracen and Kanya let rip with gunshots from the top of the cliff. Saracen shoots wide, not realising his halfling friend is now insubstantial. Kanya strikes, and kills the crab that was fighting the halfling!

Jaali is now in gaseous form. His friend YC is running away, carrying the old woman in his arms. One remaining crab is chasing after the monk, but looks like it will be too slow.

Maju and Apinya reach the top of the south side of the ridge, and look about. Maju's familiar falcon can also report two human figures, flying on a long stick, receding rapidly over the lake to the south.

Kree! Skull warriors flew away! Kreeeeeee!
