"Is this day cursed?", Yuan-Cheng mutters.
He will run towards Teruk and hopes both men will follow.

Re: Chapter 2: The Land of Sulan
Jaali will take the map, put it in his backpack and quaff one third of his potion of invisibility. Things are starting to get messy...

Re: Chapter 2: The Land of Sulan
MTeasdale - thanks for the correction.
Jaali steals the map and goes invisible. He can also steal some scrolls if desired. There's no other treasure in the chest.
The monk runs at the pallisade and almost flies up it. The guard with the spear follows a short distance then gives up. The unarmed guard goes back inside, where he doesn't see Jaali sneaking away. Where does Jaali go? Note that the two guards are not making any noise.
In the meantime, the other group advances at a quick pace don the main path to the south of the chief's house, which is over the water. They cross the south bridge and go up to the priests' house (12) which is a very fancy looking dwelling behind it's own 8' pallisade.
At the gate to the priest's house, you see two skull warriors, who are coming out of there, with a young woman with her hands behind her back.
One of them turns and notices you as you come up. He definitely realizes that something is wrong and is likely to raise the alarm. The other is struggling with the girl, who looks pretty feisty. He hasn't seen you yet.
To the north, there are a few trees and buildings obscuring the view of area where the temple is but the noise is increasing.
You are about 30 feet from the two skull guards and the struggling girl. There is hardly anyone else around in this exact location. You win the initiative. What do you do?

Seeing the situation, Maju immediately raises his hand and casts Magic Missile. He targets one missile at each of the Skull Warriors.
OOC: Here's hoping that their HP are low and Magic Missile is quiet.

Jaali will leave the house trying to be as silent as possible. He will then try to get a spot with a nice view of the digging site.
Would it be possible to climb the tree near 4 or there is too much people/obstacles getting there ?

Kanya will move 20' forward then cast darkness into the eyes of the one who has seen her and Maju.

Re: Chapter 2: The Land of Sulan
Yuan Cheng - I have you moving through the jungle to the east of the village at great speed (120'). One of Teruk's 2 guards sees you and hails you, then signals Teruk and the other man, who stand and start running forward. You can regroup next round and get back to the pallisade the round after.
Jaali - I have you, invisible, leaping over a low interior fence (6') and moving up through the yard behind the temple. There are 3 people around, but you are stealthy and no one notices you at all. One of them is a lone skull warrior, who is standing out behind the temple, but you can't see any ogres. Getting to the big tree will take another round or so. You can hear a lot of people out the front of the temple.
Maju - your missiles fly at their respective targets and strike. The one holding the girl takes a hit in the head (5), the other to the arm (2). Neither man goes down.
The cleric runs forward 20' so she is within 10' of them, and then casts darkness, but not before the one who saw you yells out very loudly - intruders. Then, his eyes are covered in darkness and he sees no more. He stumbles around blindly and ends up falling to the ground.
The other man turns in alarm to stare at his friend. He also begins yelling for assistance, and positions himself so that the girl is between yourselves and himself.
Apinya grabs his pistol and loads up.
Noise begins at the temple area, including some shouting. Maju hears: Valik - go see what the problem is! in loud booming voice.
Your move. You have initiative.
(Edit: I done goofed this post, and forgot to give them an action. It's fixed now).

Re: Chapter 2: The Land of Sulan
Yuan-Cheng motions to Teruk and his men to come quickly and he leads them toward the digging area.
DM: That's fine. Bear in mind that I did say Teruk was 5 rounds normal movement away from the village, so as not to be seen. So this will actually take some time to accomplish. The other method of summoning him was to throw a stone far out into the jungle.
