Day 6, 6am. You should already all have regained your one hit point. Refresh your spells. Lose a day of food for yesterday.

The villagers set off southward through the tall forest, covering a lot of ground. They get through two hexes, even with the camel. Kanya rides on the camel much of the time.

The day passes uneventfully although the villager scouts reveal that there are creatures around - you just haven't met any lately. They do gather some edible plants. Lose no rations for day 6.

You make camp that evening and have a peaceful night, with nothing attacking you at all! The villagers burn a special plant that even keeps the mosquitoes at bay. Hooray.

Day 7 - get another hit point back. You keep moving south and the villagers say you are nearing their road, that runs between Sulan and the coast to the west.

That's when you get rushed by a bunch of these guys:

There are 6 of them. They stand about as tall as you are running very fast. The monk could outrun them, everyone else will get caught. You see them at 140 yards distance. None of you are surprised, except half the villagers, who were collecting fruit at the time.

You may all act. Kanya, remember you are on a camel. The villagers will act after you. They are all preparing to fight with their spears. Teruk is looking at Maju expectantly.

It seems like they're attacking us or just passing by ?

DM response: They are definitely attacking you.

Maju would like to cast Haste on his companions. He can apply it to 5 individuals. He will choose: Jaali, Yuan-Cheng Fung, Kanya, Teruk, and the most fit looking of Teruk's warriors. He then says to the affected persons, "Now, destroy these beasts! If nothing else, we need the food."

OOC: Sorry Saracen, but I figure you'll use magic which isn't affected by Haste.

Maju was actually in the middle of the initiative order, but to keep things simple I have determined that the haste spell will kick in next round, for everyone.

So this round, the affected people still only get one action and a normal move.

Yuan-Cheng draws his sword and attacks.

DM response: OK...they are moving 100 yards this round. If you want to run 40 yards, you can get to them and attack one right at the end of the round. But then, all 6 of them will be on you and everyone else will still be 40 yards back! Is that what you want?

Jaali will shoot towards the closest one and draw his cutlass after the shot.

Saracen sights down his rifle and sits the crosshairs squarely on one of the approaching dinosuars. Aiming carefully, he breathes in and squeezes the trigger.
Give em five rounds rapid.

(As for haste, there's also Apinya and I suspect he's more hardy than the scrawny villagers )

Kanya will pull out her greatmaul, and back the camel up by 50' (or 40', or whatever rate the camel moves at). One action, one move... done!

Ah, yes. Yuan-Cheng will cautiously advance with the others, not go running full-speed to attack 6 dinosaurs by himself. Thanks, LM!

Results of round 1

Jaali fires first - and misses. He swears under his breath, and draws his cutlass.

Saracen fires his rifle, hitting one of the creatures. (8hp). It looks hurt but still moves forward. Apinya also fires...and scores another hit on a minor creature (4 hp). The mage casts his Haste spell. Yuan Cheng draws his sword and makes ready. Kanya dismounts and sends the camel back into the forest, and draws her maul. The villagers all ready their spears, Teruk included.

Round 2 -

The dinosaurs roll a 1 for initiative, and seeing as most of you are hasted, you all get to act first.

They are charging you, so you may now attack. Anyone who is hasted can attack twice. Teruk and the villagers go after you have all declared. Jaali, if you keep up with missile fire you are at -4.

Go!
