Maju was a little disoriented. By the time he realized something was happening, he had barely drawn one of his pistols - too late he realized as the beast bore down on him. Then at the last moment, the loud report of a pistol distracted the creature, causing it to deviate from its path. Maju heaved a sigh of relief with the narrow miss. Then he saw his companion conjure an attack on the thing!

Maju says to Saracen, "I have some extra rations if you need them."

Round 2 has started.

Saracen's action in round 2 was to shoot the creature. Lightning flies from his finger tips. The beast is hit, doing it 8 hit point, enough to kill an ordinary person in an instant. But not this creature. It roars with pain and fear and keeps running.


The rest of you can all act. I think Jaali is waving his turnover pistol at it and will shoot if it turned around, which it hasn't. Maju has his pistol drawn but doesn't seem like he is going to fire...the monk is up a tree and the ranger is coming to her senses and will act this round.

If you want to eat it you better hit it some more, otherwise it's gone.

Sonja looks at the fleeing packypotamus, and decides it's not worth the effort. She'll turn back to the jungle and keep hacking down the vines until she finds a good spot to rest for the night.


Not great damage with the hand axe, it's long range, and I'd have a one-round weapon switching penalty eventually.

Saracen moves towards it and then fires another magic missile at the creature.

Just waiting a bit to see if anyone else wants to act in round 2. Otherwise, I'll go to round 3 and you (Saracen) can do that.

Yuan-Cheng draws his talking sword and jumps down on the creature's back with a scream, and buries the blade in its neck.

Jaali, seeing that the group is attacking the beast, will shoot his pistol.

Sorry Yuan Cheng. You were partway up a tree and the beast did not run underneath you. You can jump down from the tree, but not attack.

Jaali lets rip with his turnover pistol as the thing runs past, and he critically fails. His weapon jams and will now take 10 rounds to clear. He has to reload next round anyway...

Maju is still offering extra rations to avoid killing the thing, and Sonja has turned her back in evident disinterest.

That leaves Saracen. The sea-elf pirate seems very gung ho and slightly crazy. He charges after the huge lizard and has another blast with his magic missile. The creature is dropped about 80 yards away from where you were standing. It writhes around for a round, with smoke pouring off it, and then it dies.

You can find a place to camp close by here and eat it, or you can cut some steaks and camp a bit further away. What do you do?

Ha ha! What a catch! I've never had strange giant lizard before, lets cut it up and go and find somewhere sheltered to camp.

Saracen walks over and begins hacking large steaks out of the creature.
