Yuan Cheng (and anyone else who wants to go) is led through the tall forest to a place just under a mile away where 3 more villagers are spying on a campsite.

The woman is a pirate, you think her name is something like 'Kanya' or 'Tanya', and she was quite high up in the pirate pecking order. The man is one of the crew, who turned out to be a mutineer, and you can't remember his name. Both are Siamese.

(Note: the villagers are very quite moving through the tall forest, and so is the monk.)

Yuan-Cheng will walk toward them (but not so as to give away his companions' location).

"Hello! Are you lost? What has happened to the others?"

The paid of the both draw pistols on the monk. Then the woman calls out:

"Hey. Hands on your head or I'll kill you, you @$#$%$^ mother-^%&%*%*&%. Where is Black Sonja?"

This woman is Woe's new character. I'll let her take over from now.

"Do you have tea? This would be much more pleasant with tea and the guns holstered."

(Longman was awesome. Totally in character.)

With a sigh of annoyance, the woman holsters her pistol. You get the sense, it's not a final decision. The man doesn't. "Hey you. We're out here in this damn jungle looking for the bloody lot of you damn runaways." She looks behind the monk, and asks "Where the hells is Fhajah and the others?"

She laughs derisively. "What do you think this is, a kana tea party? Are you so jungle-feverous that I look like a geisha?" She gets back to business. "Honestly, I don't care if it's pleasant for you. I'd be perfectly happy to make it unpleasant if that's what you want. Like I asked before, where are the others?"

I know I haven't posted her dossier yet, but think "not warm and friendly" ... this comes close. However, I promise that I've worked out a good backstory that won't have her at odds with a pirate-aligned party, and the nastiness is mainly because I rolled a low CHA. It's not my fault! You'll get used to it, I promise. :D

(Note: I'm playing Yuan-Cheng's low Charisma as socially awkward.)

"Tea would have made this more pleasant. The others are safe, wondering if you two are also safe. We have made friends in the jungle. Friends who ask: Why are you here? Why are you not with the ship? What are your plans?"

Honestly, I didn't expect a request for tea. Hilarious!

"I'll not be interrogated by you. Take us to Fhajah and the others, immediately." She turns to Apinya, clearly done with the monk. "We're breaking camp. Be wary when we approach."

Yuan-Cheng shrugs and helps them break camp.

As you are packing up camp, some of the villagers suddenly become startled and face southward. Two seconds later, two large and very dangerous looking dinosaurs appear, charging in your direction. The bigger one is about 30 feet long!

Image

Yuan Cheng, Kanya and Maju are all surprised and can't act for a round, because of the sheer size of them, more than anything.

Apinya fires his pistol at one of the creatures and misses! BANG! He starts reloading.

There are 4 villagers present...all are not surprised. "RUN!" they cry. "It is orange devil lizards. They will eat us all! RUN!"

They don't even bother trying to fight. They just vamoose and all move 100 yards into the jungle, roughly back towards your other camp, where Jaali and Saracen are. (It's too far away to bring those characters into combat.)

First Normal Round:
The dinosaurs both move 80' during this round and will end it 10 yards away from you.

You can flee, or fight, or climb, or hide. The monk could climb 30' easily, the rest 15' with a sucessful dex roll. But, if the creatures stand on their hind legs they could reach close to 30 feet anyway. Also bear in mind the camel has a speed of 50 and can probably outrun them, but it might panic and run in any direction.

Their move is 40. If yours is 30, you have a problem.

The terrain under the tall trees is pretty open, although there are a few hiding spots the monk could try. The other characters would be very lucky to hide successfully from this position.

PS - Maju if you don't want to be present, I can retcon you out of this. I decided Saracen would have stayed put in the camp as he is so badly injured, and Jaali is out because I thought Mteasdale wasn't posting for a while. I can retcon that as well.

Yuan-Cheng is lightly loaded, has no armor, and gets +20' to movement for being a Great Way Adept so he can move at 60'. He is booking out of there!
