4/5 again. Time to act.

The sea elf fires more lightning from his fingertips into the body of the panicked creature and does 7 more hit points. The halfling takes another swipe with his cutlass but his time it is well wide. The monk Yuan Cheng stands up and moves backwards a small distance, huge sword at the ready.

All three creatures fail their save against the mage's next spell, Slow. The alpha, which is nearly dead, is moving at 15" to get away from you, and the other two aren't moving at all this round - the web and the slow spell have totally immobilized them for the time being.

Sonja holds fire, although she is pretty sure she could now drop the badly wounded alpha if she wished.

Round 4 - your actions please. (Sonja may fire in round 3 if she wants). This is nearly over, but not quite.

Saracen will fire another magic missile at the alpha.
Oh no! you're not getting away that easily.

Yuan-Cheng would like to put the alpha out of its misery (and take an aspirin!)

Round 3, Sonja will take two shots at the alpha.

Round 4, how far away is Sonja from the web?

Sonja neatly kills the beast with her first arrow shot, and round 3 ends. She is a about 30 yards from the web. The remaining creatures are no threat and are trying to flee but haven't made it out yet. You will not get extra exp for slaughtering them - you have already won the encounter.

Now what? Does this mean a change of course or plan of action? Or do you keep going? It's just past 10am on day 4, and you have spent a lot of magic just now.

Sonja will walk over to the dead creature. As she passes Yuan-Cheng, she'll help him to his feet. She has heard of the incredible healing powers that monks have, and knows that he'll recover quickly. "Bad fall" is all she says before continuing to the carcass. Once there, Sonja will retrieve as many arrows as she can. She'll then inspect the teeth. Herbivore or omnivore? She will also wrest off the nasal horn and the two larger parietal horns if she can. She's not against bashing into the skull if she needs to.

Of course, she (and Jericco) will keep an eye out for the other two creatures. She doesn't want to get charged.

It's at least 18 feet long. That's a lot of meat. Yuan-Cheng is going to meditate for a turn to heal himself while the party decides what to do.

Sonja looks up at Yuan-Cheng's comments. 'You know, we could take this meat back to the beach and give it over to the rest of the survivors. The only direction that ship is going is the bottom of the sea, and as you said, this is a lot of meat."

Let's see... by analogy to elephants, this would be about six to ten tons? That's a LOT more than a lot.

"I would suggest to just eat what we need and get back where we were heading. I don't feel like hauling food for those pirates. It's because of them that we're stuck here. I'm not sure I want to make their life easier..."

Jaali will also keep a few pieces of meat and wrap them in leaves. It can prove useful to distract a carnivorous animal while fleeing. For encumbrance purpose, I would say 3 pieces of two pounds each.
