Jaali will let them pass and try to backstab the closest, if it didn't notice him when passing nearby.

OOC: Quick question: Are there trees here? My thought is for Maju to cast Web in order to stop or slow them if he can attach it to trees in the area. If no trees, then he'll try to cast Slow (the opposite of Haste) on the lead/alpha creature.

I have 4/5 actions so I am going in for round 2. Saracen, I played you for a round.

Ranger Sonja takes a bow shot at the alpha, rolling a natural 20. She does 8hp of damage on the lead creature. It growls and keeps moving.

Maju readies another spell - this time a Web - and casts it in a 20 foot wide band, 40 in length, just in front of the charging creatures, anchored to a good many trees in the area. The spell stops the two lesser beasts, but not the alpha, who was quicker than the mage anticipated and barges through a few feet of webs to right appear in front of him.

This is when the monk, Yuan Cheng, leaps silently from a tree in an attempt to land on the creature's back and stick his enormous sword in its neck. He critically fails in this attempt (oops!) and lands flat on his back just in front of the charging creature!

The pirate Saracen fires his magic missile at the dinosaur and does a further 7 hit points. Unfortunately this is not enough to stop it trampling the prone monk.

The creature hits, and does 7 hit points damage to Yuan Cheng.

The little halfing Jaali realises that the creature is not going to run past his location, and his chance for a backstab has been lost. What does he do this round? He can stay put, or do something else.

So, I need actions from Jaali in round 2, and everyone for round 3 (including Jaali again). You get to go first.

Bear in mind those other dinosaurs are 18' long and that web can only hold them for so long. It was an excellent spell choice, but this isn't game over for the dinosaurs by any means.

Round 2 - Jaali will leave his hiding spot and will get to the creature attacking Yuen Cheng, in hope that Yueng Cheng can get on his feet before getting trampled.

Round 3 - (Still thinking about it, update coming)

Jaali's action for round 2 is a success - he sidles up to the creature as it is trampling the monk, and stabs it. It takes 6 hit points.

The total damage now is 21. It fails morale and looks like it could flee, but it is surrounded and may lash out angrily at anyone nearby in order to get away. That includes the monk, the halfling, and the magic user Maju.

Maju calls to his companions, "It looks like the alpha will flee now. We should let it – since these appear to be herding beast, the others will likely follow. I'll slow them a bit for good measure to aid our escape."

Maju would now like to cast Slow (the reverse of Haste) on all three of the lizards (I think he's in range for that). Hopefully that will keep the lead beast from attacking (giving us time to get out of range), and will keep the other two in the web long enough for us to beat a hasty retreat out of here.

Sonja will hold her fire, waiting to see with the dinosaurs do. If they don't flee, she will doubleshot the alpha.

Saracen will magic missile the alpha, hoping that if it falls, the rest will flee.

Round 3 - Jaali will hit the Alpha with his cutlass again, hoping to finish him off to get a dinner. Jaali thinks that the other will probably flee if they see their alpha down.
