Ok, finally got around to updating my background beyond "buccaneer." Can anyone spot the one big inconsistency? I know there are small ones; but there's (at least) one obviously big one.
I'll give a hint. It's not directly related to the history itself. I took a few liberties because I never really studied what happened to the Roman Empire once Rome fell. Pretty much, we went from 476 to the Renaissance in one or two chapters. Apparently there was a whole lot going on in the eastern Med.

I'm not an expert on old firearms, but is it too dangerous to walk with a charged pistol ? If it isn't, I'll charge it and keep it nearby.

Hiya mTeasdale. I moved this into Chit Chat. You can keep a loaded pistol all you like. I am not going into that much detail.

I say avoid/ignore and hope they aren't carnivores.

Just a GM question:
How realistic and painstaking do you guys want to be about rations and so forth?
In my other games I like people to keep track, but I didn't see this one being like that. So, if you want to assume you are hunting and living off dinosaur, that's fine with me. Saves keeping track. Keep your rations for emergencies. Ignore what I have said about losing rations, so far.
But if you want to add a touch of realism, we need to think about the practicality of carrying fresh meat around in the tropics for days at a time. You know it would go off in less than 24 hours, right?
I'll leave it up to you.
