OOC: I assume that attacks can be performed through the wall of fire. If possible, Maju would like to get close enough to cast Magic Missile against Jab Al-Afri (all projectiles on him). Hopefully, between the damage of the original attack, the wall of fire, and some Magic Missle action, he'll be taken down.

I would not assume that. Spells like Magic Missile need line of sight, and you can't see through wall of fire. Arrows would burn going through. Bullets wouldn't, but you'd still be firing at random. Lightning bolt is 5' wide and you'd need to see what square the mage was in.

The efreeti may have cast it to concentration, or to a set number of rounds. You'd have to ask him.

Okay, so Jab-Afri can cast Summon Elemental, either from a spell (which puts him at 9th level, minimum) or from a wand/staff/other device. We have to get there quickly. If we can distract him, the elemental will attack him instead of us. That would be pretty cool!

Rostam will try to shoot him if he comes into sight.
But that is his plan anyway.

If he has summoned an elemental, we need to distract Jab-Afri from his spell. In that way, the elemental will attack him instead of us. That could potentially finish him outright.

Quick rules question - when we are outdoors, ranges are given in yards instead of feet, especially for movement. But ranges of spells are still limited by their distance in feet, I think. Thus, if we are 70 yards away, my spell would have to have a range of 210 feet to be effective, correct?

My reading is that the area of effect of spells stays in feet but range, as a distance measurement, is still in yards. So your spell ranges are in yards.

So just to be clear, Maju's Magic Missile range would be 150 feet indoors, but out here it's 150 yards. Is that correct?
