Eighth cousin, five times removed, by marriage to my third cousin twice removed. IE: We had a common ancestor back about half a million years ago.
That I might could accept, with sufficient stiff Dwarven stout ale clouding my senses...like say a keg or two. Make that three.
Why do I get the sense of being a member of a bunch of yahoo six-shooter toting quasi outlaw/lawmen entering town looking for trouble? Any second now I expect one of you to shove your hat back on your head, squint, and aim a wad of chew at a spittoon.

Yeah I'm getting an elf-ghetti western vibe, too. I like it.
I figured we were all from the same population group. I always see elves as a bit like Celtic tribes. The Celtic elves / fairies are the 'Tuatha de Danann' i.e., the Kin of Dana.

I've always thought of elves as noble Celts/Early Britons. Dwarves are Scottish/Norse, Halflings as German, and Humans are a stand-in for whatever culture I'm trying to play up (such as here they tend to be English with a smattering of Czech and Dutch).

I've always thought elves as French -- aloof, haughty and a bit more refined than their half-elf cousins, also known as French-Canandians.

Sorry about the late character posting, its been a long weekend. Two nine hour RPG sessions have left me quite tired.
