(OOC: The ring of wood is standing upright and therefore could not be a hole in the floor. It is large and therefore could not be something worn on a finger. Specifically the inner diameter is approximately 7' while the width of the wood it about 2' so that the outer diameter is about 9'. The ring of wood is also about a foot thick.)

Edward takes a cup from his bag and dips it into the ring. he pulls it up to see if there is water in it. ((If there isn't a watering looking liquid in it then disregard the rest of this post)). He sloshes it a bit inside the cup gives it a sniff. If it doesn't really smell like anything he dip a finger in it, and then touch it to his lips. If it taste like water and feels refreshing he will go ahead and drink from the cup. "Ahhhhhh, that was refreshing. I needed that." ((assuming that he didn't drop dead))

William stands guard at the entrance way.
Sergeant? If there are any spare clothes in there, let me know.

Ferahf looks at the ring, //What do you think that is?\\, he says in everyone's minds, //I've never seen anything like this. How deep do think that water is?\\

Eli will watch Edward as he dips his cup into the watery substance in the ring. Other than that he's making no move towards it. In fact he's pulling his bow from his back and nocking and arrow just in case something "funky" happens.

There is a SLURP! and Edward is drawn almost instantaneously into the vertical ring of wood. He does not reappear.
(OOC: Hywaywolf is exempted from posting today as I need everyone else's responses before we proceed.)

Ferahf blinks in surprise, // Well, now we know it's a portal of some sort... The only question is: Where does it go and is he dead?\\
