Chapter Three: Into the Fweth Tunnels

Re: Chapter Three: Into the Fweth Tunnels
William will go about 20 feet further down the tunnel while everyone else is looking at the hole, with his bow drawn. He'll listen out as best he can. He's just guarding, really. It's in his nature.
[OOC - Let's go down the ant-man hole tunnel. That's my vote.]

Re: Chapter Three: Into the Fweth Tunnels
Looking down and the Khat Eli says.If the rest of you are ok with a little silent recon..... Ferahf you appear to be much more silent than I am. Would you be willing to make a creep up this hole for a few meters and check it out? I'll follow along after a few minutes if it'd make you feel better about going. The scout in me hates to leave an open hole behind us that could harbor an enemy. I'm good with going forward after the ant man as long as we keep an eye on our backtrail for a while. Since I'm new to the group I'm not sure what your standard operating procedure is so I'm just sort of throwing out ideas. If we do head into the hole Alron can hold that light burst in reserve to cover our retreat?

Re: Chapter Three: Into the Fweth Tunnels
As you speak in low voices about your plans a little of the silence of the tunnels descends around you and the chill, held briefly at bay by your short walk, returns. You notice that it seems just the tiniest bit warmer at the center of the tunnel as though the walls, floor, and even ceiling were all either radiating cold or sucking out the warmth.
Further down the Fweth tunnel William notes nothing but silence.
Faintly as though far away you hear a jumble of skittering sounds down that tunnel revealed by the hole in the wall. So many, in fact, that it is nearly a continual hiss. The sound doesn't seem to be getting louder however.
Edward hears nothing behind him.

Edward stays alert for anything coming behind and hopes that those peeking into that hole are being very careful. The chill seeps into him and he shrugs closer into his cloak. He finds it warmer in the center which he decides is a good place to be.

Alrone shall follow, reading an arcane bolt.
Re: Chapter Three: Into the Fweth Tunnels
Ferahf nods and climbs into the hole. He will walk along as quiet as a cat can be. keeping an ear out for anything that might be hostile.
Today you will meet a beautiful stranger. Actually hundreds of beautiful strangers. Everyone is beautiful and you know almost none of them.

Re: Chapter Three: Into the Fweth Tunnels
On this occasion William will abandon his place in the regular marching order and take the rear, guarding the entrance to the ant-man tunnel, while the scouts go down inside.
What shall we do, Sergeant? This seems like some kind of infestation. And if that's the case, these creatures are no friends of the Fweth. They are just their unwanted house-guests.
[OOC - I've changed my mind about this tunnel. Now that we've heard the size of the hive, I think we should avoid it.]

Edward looks at his taliaman to see if it has changed direction, but otherwise keeps watch back the way we came.

Re: Chapter Three: Into the Fweth Tunnels
As Elifain moves along the tunnel apparently made by the ant-men he is surprised by a sudden and painful tingle in his left foot.
Beside him Ferahf notices that the sense of cold draining he was feeling in his paws has disappeared. In the distance the hissing sound of a multitude of skitters grows apace.
In the Fweth tunnel Alrone readies his arcane bolt as Edward looks at his talisman. The little green gem has moved relative to the mark indicating the front of the device, pointing still in the original direction it was when the party was in the room where they had their encounter.
Elizabeth and William prepare to return back along the tunnel.
