After the captain and Joscelin have left, Alrone addresses the rest of the players "so looks like the captain ain't so keen about us taking up the work. Worrisome it may be and I am sure that some of you really want to help him, we must not let it bother us. While this mist is intriguing, what I am really interested in is exploring the world and great wilderness. This has posed somewhat of a problem for me as I am frail and week however you lot seem like a strong bunch. I suppose what I am saying is that once we have departed this ship instead of going our separate ways, we should party together and explore the world granting the protection of each other. So how does it sound? I know I'm not the most typical of the bunch but I seem to get on with a few of you and a couple of you seem like close friends who travel together. What 1 human, elf, dwarf or even half-orc can accomplish pails in comparison to the amount 5 can with less comparative effort."

"As I said I do not have fixed plans. I'm ready to acept any interesting offer."

(OOC: Assuming you mean Joscelin is sneaking around inside the ship and looking for the Captain's cabin...)

After making his excuses to the others and leaving the Captain's dining room via the door the Captain used Joscelin discovers a short narrow passage that leads, apparently, to the rest of the Captain's own quarters. At one door he seems to hear talking and makes his way there to listen and spy through the keyhole.

Through the keyhole he sees the Captain sitting in a chair talking to a youngish girl in her early teens who is sitting cross-legged on a bed. The girl is dressed in oddly foreign clothing and though she is human her fine, beautiful features seem otherworldly somehow. Her long hair is rich brown and her large eyes are golden. Her skin is a light nut brown and there is, even at her early age, a blossoming fullness of figure.

Joscelin begins to listen.

"...are of differing opinion as to whether not to take up my offer" you hear the Captain say.

The girl speaks in a melodic alto voice, "Please, Halyth, you must try again."

"But Aut...!" the Captain begins to protest before being cut off by a small gesture from the girl.

"And you mustn't use my true name anymore. It isn't safe. From now on you must call me...let's see...Shaha...yes...that will do nicely."

"But..Shaha?...that get up you're wearing...is it appropriate? I mean this is Angland after all and a young girl shouldn't wear so little."

Shaha laughs. "If I must I will wear a long cloak over it when I leave alright? Now. Will you please...wait...."

You see Shaha pause and her eyes go distant a moment before looking in your direction and you could swear she sees you through the keyhole.

Hurriedly you stand up and, making your way down the passage, slip through the door into the now empty dining room. Through it you go and through that door quick as you can and on to your own cabin. With a sigh of relief you close your cabin door. You don't think you've been outright caught.

"Sorry he-who-didn't-use-third-person, but we still have our duties to discharge." says Elizabeth. "Once we are off this ship, we're straight to the Lordship's manor to escort him back to Abertawe. And if what the captain says is true, looks like we'll be staying in Caerton a bit and waiting for them to finish packing."

I'm quite sure Mint is going to switch our "escort duties" train onto another track; but until then, some of us have jobs to do. :)

Alrone replies "Oh is that the case Elizabeth." I muse to myself "Well if they are going to be in caerton for a few days..." I turn back to Elizabeth "Would you mind if I tag along? I have some minor magical abilities that may come in handy if we are attacked by brigands."

Remembering the confusion she caused with Kynndelic, she attempts to be more clear when answering Alrone. "I'd be happy for the company, sir; but I'm not sure whether his Lordship will want additional companions on his journey back to Abertawe. I've heard some lords welcome elves into their houses, and others are a bit more... exo... exono... a bit less receptive of non-humans. I just don't know enough about Lord Gywr to know what he'd think, but I'll definitely ask the steward when we arrive."

She pauses, then continues talking about Abertawe and how it's definitely worth visiting; though all of the reasons are definitely provincial. Clearly, Elizabeth has not traveled often outside of Abertawe's surrounding areas. She definitely enjoys boasting about her home.

Edward swallows the last of his meal and washes it down with the last of his tea. He has heard the others discussion about duties and adventure, but he knows they don't include him in those plans ... afterall, no one ever wants Edward around. Slowly and quietly he stands and begins to help the stewards clear the table and if they allow it, will help clean the dishes and put the room back to shipshape cleanliness. If the stewards don't wish his help, then he will return to the beakhead and lie on the platform and watch the waves slip past.

"Oh you can pick out my elven features so easily?" Arlone smiles "I suppose it is rather obvious but I prefer the human part of my lineage so I like to think myself more of a part of human society..." He trails off then returns to his cabin. As he leaves the room (after listening to whatever liz has to say) he wonders what happened to Joscelin...

The rest of the evening passes without any seeming mishaps to any of our intrepid adventurers. There is a slowly growing sense of camaraderie amongst them now perhaps though it is still tenuous. Perhaps it's the shared meals perhaps the shared newness of being at sea. In any event the night passes quietly and in due time the sun rises and the last full day of the trip begins.

Alrone shall return to the dining area hoping to seen liniai (is that how you spell it?) again. If an hour passes and she isn't there then Arlone will approach the nearest member of the party.
