Chapter One: The Star and the Sylvan Sea

Re: Chapter One: The Star and the Sylvan Sea
The rest of the day passes uneventfully and around midafternoon each of you receives an invitation to join the Captain once again for supper at his table. Ordinarily each passenger is afforded this honor only once per voyage but, as you have noticed, there are few other passengers aboard for some reason.
The hours pass and evening arrives. You find yourselves in the Captain's cabin once again with a lavish dinner spread before you...

Re: Chapter One: The Star and the Sylvan Sea
After a small greeting bow Kynndelic says: "Good evening Captain. Very kind of you to invite us once more. Is our trip going well?"
Re: Chapter One: The Star and the Sylvan Sea
The Captain looks up from his meal, swallows a bite of meat, and smiles in a fatherly way, "Indeed it is. Well, other than the relatively few passengers. All is well with you I hope? With the Mists coming through the Scandenland straits it seems most people prefer to travel in the opposite direction." He chuckles and looks at you inquiringly, clearly hoping that you might be forthcoming with information as to your future intentions.
Re: Chapter One: The Star and the Sylvan Sea
Kynndelic looks at the others and then back at the captain "I think I'm speaking for all of us when I say that your hospitality is excellent Captain. Maybe your loss of passengers will be compensated by some fruitful trade?"
"For my part I think I might follow Lady Wolfe and Master William to Abertawe. I'd like to see the birth of a new lordship in human lands, it's a rare event in elven lands."

Re: Chapter One: The Star and the Sylvan Sea
"I can't speak for my comrades, but for my part, I just thought that life might be easier to me oversea. I'm starting to consider the possibility of finding a wife and starting a family, but I may continue to do what I do the best : seeking wealth and glory. Wealth mostly, to be honest, people of my profession generally don't benefit from too much notoriety".
Joscelin looks at his new companions, and then get back to the captain : "Maybe you heard something on your travels that might give us that kind of opportunity ?"

Not used to such rich food, Elizabeth sticks to the plainer fare -- nuts and fresh fruit. You find yourselves in the Captain's cabin once again with a lavish dinner spread before you...
"I'd be happy to have the company sir, but I dunno whether his Lordship would want it." Elizabeth considers correcting the "Lady Wolfe" part, then decides against it. It must be an odd translation from elvish, she concludes. With her rough (adventurer's) garb, he surely can't be mistaking her for nobility.artikid wrote:Kynndelic looks at the others and then back at the captain "I think I'm speaking for all of us when I say that your hospitality is excellent Captain. "Just the escort back to Abertawe I was a'mentioning yesterday, sir. I think we'll be taking the land route back, through Loidis. Sailing's good for some, but I can't imagine bringing a whole House back on a boat." And I'm sure William will be happy with solid ground under his feet too. she adds to herself. He chuckles and looks at you inquiringly, clearly hoping that you might be forthcoming with information as to your future intentions.

Re: Chapter One: The Star and the Sylvan Sea
"I see there's been a misunderstanding. I meant 'follow' as in 'travel to the same city you are travelling to', if possible. I did not mean to impose myself on you or your liege lord." Kynndelic interrupts.
Re: Chapter One: The Star and the Sylvan Sea
Then he adds as an afterthought "... Although serving in the army of a human lord could be a very interesting experience, now that I think of it."
Re: Chapter One: The Star and the Sylvan Sea
"Oh! I didn't think you ought to swear fealty to the new lord. It's just... nobility can be very particular about their plans. They might not want additional people riding on their caravans and sleeping at their campsites. I don't know but we can definitely ask about it once we meet the house steward."

Re: Chapter One: The Star and the Sylvan Sea
William attends the dinner but is in a quiet mood. He was hoping they'd be getting off the boat this evening, and has found this not to be the case.
He listens to conversation at the dinner, trying to establish what the elf and half elf are really doing here. The half-orc Edward, he knows is a local Angland man (is this true?), and likes him so far, despite his unfortunate appearance. But he is still unsure about elvish magic and what it can do, after the floating coffee cup encounter.
