Hi Gang.

Thanks Mint for having me in.

I'll be posting my character later this afternoon (in a few hours). It is 1.15 in the afternoon where I am.

My character is a squire to Elizabeth Wolfe, if Woe is OK with that concept. His name is William Fiveash and he is a longbowman (fighter). I figured seeing as there was a druid, a sorcerer, a thief, and a fighter mage, and a paladin, then a plain fighter would work OK.

Gah! The backstory for her is, she doesn't know she's a paladin. At least, not yet. She's just a guard with weird dreams that she hasn't sorted out yet. Most of a paladin's abilities are passive (save the healing thing) so she can be cluelessly a paladin until Mint drops a plot twist later.

Or you could play a squire to a paladin that she thinks she's a guard who has an ardent admirer. Whew! Better than the midday dramas!

You are a sergeant in the local guard and presumably someone of fairly high standing. I don't necessarily need to be squire to a 'paladin', per se. Just a 'knight' type of fighter, which it seems like you are.

Anyway, I've posted with that back story for the time being.

If you dislike the idea I can adapt easily enough. I was mostly looking for a way to be connected by religious or military affiliation to one of the other characters before we got started.

If I have read the rules right we effectively got 120gp in the old money. I have spent ALL my money on a longbow (half of it) and other weapons and armor, and I hardly have two backpacks to rub together. We're on a ship right? I didn't go for a horse.

12gp @ 20:1 = 120 BFRPG gp. Go get that horse!

And no, Elizabeth is not high standing -- at least not by normal standards. She's from a small fishing village, she's illiterate, and she wears studded leather (until she gets enough for full plate!). Definitely not like the Peers of Charlemagne.

Hey Longman, our town is on the map! How cool is that!

INT 8, and Mint says I have to play like it. :D

Actually 12@20:1 = 240GP in BFRPG money!

SWEEEEET. I had twice as much as I thought.

I'm confused about our town, though. How can a little fishing village have a town guard? Can we maybe make it a slightly bigger place? Like, a fair size town (4000?).

Apparently that INT=8 is not just limited to Elizabeth, but also her player.

I'm not sure about the size of Abertawe. I was thinking it was small (~600 ppl) with about a dozen in the guard, but not much beyond that. How about we invert things, where Elizabeth is from the small town and William the larger town?

I'm glad you corrected my mistake even if your correction made the same mistake I made in the first place.
