As a sorcerer can I have daggers?

The concept I'm using for magic in this world runs along the lines that metal interferes with the flow and shaping of the arcane energies. So it will interfere where you are a sorcerer, magic user, or druid. Long answer short: sorry but no daggers. Now before you go looking for an obsidian blade I am also using the house rule of magic users only being able to use staves as weapons as a counterbalance to the amount of magic options I'm allowing. GM fiat as they say. Besides, obsidian daggers smacks to me of sacrifices and that's a cleric sort of thing.

I may need a little flexibility with gear. I have not had a lot of time to do the math and such with regards to equipment/weights/costs etc. I am going for minimal gear to start (in line with character concept), so that helps.

micromanaging gear/encumbrance etc. is some of my least favorite aspects of gaming.

It does get tedious. If I have the time I'll see what I can do.

Oh wait... I bought studded leather. Sigh...

Just the shaping and casting it would seem. I assume the energy itself is invisible and the metal blocks it out (a bit like how beta particles are). Spell casting transforms the magical energy into an other form of energy which enacts the spell. Can I have 8 staves? (they cost two sp in the book so I assume that means cp in this world) Nah just kidding but get ready for decimals-my calculator is ready.
