Um...yeah. Sure. Mint's Mint!
To be sure there is a government bank. There are no loans. The bank's purpose is to allow people to store their money - for a fee. No checks. No debit crystals. No carte blanch. No letters of credit. Just hulking stone constructs in the vault which is a slab of granite suspended on silver coated steel chains 20' down from the ceiling and 50' above a pool of acid. The slab is surrounded by protection spells triggered by proximity from anything not on very secret very specific and limited list. The last known attempt ended with the perp being turned into a raspberry lollipop and teleported into a shipment of lollipops being sold on the other side of the world.
Or something like that.

That should work. I like lollipops.
Here's my concern: I'm walking around with 6gp ($12000!), and our sorcerer is walking around with 8gp ($16000!). Even when armed, that's insanity in today's world. Is it similar in Angland, or is it Perfectly Normal to walk around with a small ransom? If E. banks her gold there, what's the fee and how easy would it be to take a withdrawal at another branch (assuming there is more than one branch).

Yep. That's why people used to dig holes in the ground, stick a pouch in, make a map (sometimes and usually cryptically verbal), and call it a "hoarding". Counting such hoardings is a favorite pastime of archeologists. Go figure.
I'll write up an official post on this since it is, rightfully, a subject dear to the hearts of any wise pc. Look for it in the World thread. RSN.

I have updated my character post with additional information, and making sure my choice of Half-Orc (given my background info) is still going to be acceptable for druid class. The combo breaks the traditional concept a little, so I figured I would inquire.

That's fine Smoot. Thanks for getting it done.

Correct. Paladins don't get weapons specializations. Sorry Woe.
When, and if, artikid casts sleep your character wouldn't be able to learn it until he casts it when you've reached level two.

But yeah, I don't mind too much. Would it be okay for me to wear armour (a chain shirt) but then have to take it off so I can cast spells? The idea is bump up my Ac until I get to level 2 then become just spell caster.

No. Heh. That
would be scary.
10% tithe for most people is voluntary (though woe betide the character who doesn't show proper gratitude to his or her deity and then prays expecting miracles). There is no grand inquisitor checking to make sure people dish out the right amount.
Second there isn't income tax. There is sales tax. Sales tax
maximum is 9%. In any case a pc doesn't usually even see it because it's already figured into the price of what they are buying.
