Night guys.
Re: OOC Thread
Is that third person limited or third person omniscient? And while we're at it, should we post in past, present, or future tense?

Third person limited omniscient (IE: letting us know your thoughts in a limited way in lieu of describing facial expressions for example is fine) present tense.Woe wrote:Is that third person limited or third person omniscient? And while we're at it, should we post in past, present, or future tense?
Re: OOC Thread
In case you were wondering, your characters purchased all expenses paid passage aboard the Sylvan Sea prior to the game so there is no need to deduct anything from your horde (*cough* I mean meager supply) of coin.

@ Mint: no problem, I was looking for information more than role-playing, I can pick it up later.
BTW, if I'm looking just for information from an NPC would it be ok if I skip dialogue and just sum up what I'm saying?

Re: OOC Thread
My preferred way of doing it is to dialogue it all but this isn't tabletop so in the interests of not bogging the game down certain compromises have to be made and one way to do it is, indeed, to sum up what you want to do or ask. Try to do it in a way that isn't a blatant: "My character will do so and so and try to get x out of this."artikid wrote:@ Mint: no problem, I was looking for information more than role-playing, I can pick it up later.

Something like this perhaps:
Thalamidion looks over the deck and sees one of the crew swabbing away. Going up to him he begins, "May I ask a moment of your time?" Thalamidion, seeing the man's hesitation, proceeds in a cajoling and easy manner to ask him about the ship and it's history.
Hope that helps.

It's OK for me.Mint wrote:I'm making a slight change in the rules. It occurs to me that requiring everyone to post at least once daily might, in the long run, cause burn out not just in me but in you also. I've also noticed that the day this site is least frequented is Sunday so, being proactive, I'm going to declare that on that day the game will time-freeze and no posts should be made to the in-game thread. By all means you are free to chat in OOC if you like but for myself I will not be coming to the site at all on that day in order to give myself a chance to recharge my creative batteries. I think this will result in a longer and more satisfying game for all of us. Thanks.
BTW: I hope you don't mind me sprinkling my dialogue with references to elven customs here and there.
Even a short paragraph on elves in the World thread would go a long way in giving me a feel for what I can and can't make up.
