OOC Thread

Ah Aerth. In merry ol' Angland, King Ithwyrd lies old and feeble on his bed in Lyndon-Upon-Tems. Despite this all is well. The succession is assured and the land prospers. But something is coming that has not been seen since before the fall of the last dragon for it is... the season of the mist.

@ WOE - 2hp would do - I'm only 3 down. Mostly, I just want to figure out who has how much. Next battle and I get hit for 5 hp, I could keel over. When is your character's paladinishness going to get triggered? Another Killian like rockfall event required?

No, Elizabeth actually has had visions from her patron goddess who is encouraging her to be more paladin-like. That, and she's not a dwarf. :) She hasn't LoH'ed anyone yet but I've been working on the prayer she'll exhort if someone really needs healing.

OOC minmaxing coming up:
Edward is -3 (@5), William is -3 (@5), and Elizabeth is -2 (@6). I was thinking it's better to save it for when someone gets hit again, since one good hit onto any of us will be a major concern for everyone.

I agree that using a full CLW spell at this point is a waste - but we'll need to be careful in the next melee that we don't end up with characters down.

It's just like the other campaign, where proper healers don't exist. :P

But in the other campaign, you aren't trapped down in some tunnels, unable to get out.

Wait...scratch that.

((entering a non-standard room isn't really a marching order event.))
I disagree. When in a hazardous area, we should have an established method to sweep rooms. For example, send in Eli because of his good reaction speed (1d6 surprised, plus he surprises others 3d6); the Khat so he can boggle their minds; or send in the meat shields first so everyone else dies last. I don't think we should do this haphazardly.

I'm claiming "underground in tunnels with hostile ant-men as a man-eating mist enshrouds the world" as hazardous. ;)

After we have entered a non-fweck room the first time then we know what to expect and the players know their role then we can say enter in marching order and the DM knows whats what. But the first time we enter something strange and new then it should be something each player chooses on his own. The choice might simply be "marching order" or just like you said we might need to send in meat shields first or maybe a cleric to keep back the undead.

I think you are confusing not using marching order with going in the order of who posts first. Who posts first has nothing to do with the order we take actions. "marching order" is just a game mechanism that allows us to to take actions without discussion. If something is unique then we won't use marching order, we'll have to discuss it. Unless we are all standing around a door having a long discussion and one of us just decides to open the door then walk in. In that case we have apparently all had a turn to choose an action but no one chose so whoever posts an action goes next. to their peril :)

Looks like we've had a couple of players not post for a few days and others who've started posting sporadically. Starting to look like this campaign is in the early stages of fizzle. Your thoughts?

Hyway, we are in agreement but yet we're still discussing it. When something is new, everyone should get to be part of the discussion what to do, not just the one(s) who post first. When something is routine, no point discussing.
