It's A mystery! (there are about 15 captors)

Cross table talk Player to DM. How much play is there in these bracelets? Enough to slide one off of a wrist if needs be?

Even if they detect as magic, it still doesn't mean anything. There are spells which can create fake magical auras.

Granted but each of the schools of magic have their own aura. Illusion for instance is a vastly different color than Evocation. If the bracelet shows as a magical item it will have an aura. Our wizard will be able to tell from that aura which school of magic the item is enchanted. If it comes up black it's Necromancy, white is Healing/Clerical, red is Evocation (i.e. fireballs, fire storm etc.), blue is (I think) Invocation (i.e. lighting, shocking), Illusion is that off white with blue shadows and accents.

I'm just saying that the wizard can at least tell us if the bracelets are actually designed to kill/harm us.

There is no give in the bracelets and the only way visibly displayed is a bolt on the underneath.
