I can play a ranger or a thief, whichever the party needs more. Human or halfling. I won't play Dwarves or Gnomes. I only play Elves and their ilk when it is absolutely necessary.

Have to ask. Can't hurt. Any forewarning you want to give us before we start? So we can make last minute purchases or adjust characters? What to expect in very general terms? In a lot of modules, for instance, there is a brief background which serves this purpose or the players are told what type of characters are needed to have a good chance of surviving. Characters meet in a tavern, get offered a job, decide whether to take it on or not. That sort of thing.
