Chapter 1:Done and dead

The army of the corrupt and notorious Naxus Empire has swept down from the north, crushing all resistance and conquering nation after nation. They are even now moving into the country of Vertok, where our story begins. Will you aid the resistance, or cast your lot with the Empire?

Chapter 1:Done and dead

Post by Nekky »

Evening(8:00), Chilly.

Coming into sight...The Draginn.Lit up by torchlight , The well renowned inn ,in Cander

You are approaching Cander village ,somewhat cut off from the outside world by mountains.

A Valley divides the mountains , which is the route in and out of the area , which you have just come through.
It is a medium sized village, with a few dozen houses, a general trader, and a blacksmith.

You have come up outside the villlage , close to the Draginn.
Comprised with Spruce and stone,The torch light lights up the beautiful , clean masonry and intricate wooden carvings of the inn.
The large Oaken Doors slowly creak open and the light from within spills out into the night.

Describe your entrances into the tavern , as the warmth surrounds you.

Oh, didn't you find the orange listerine ring, it's easy!
It's right there,
out in the open,
in a chest,
in a basement,
in a different postcode ,
behind 2 secret walls,
and a fire.

The door to the tavern opens letting a blast of wind flurry into to the tavern. A brisk shot of cold follows and a shadow sweeps across the the mantle, preceding its master. A tall man clothed completely in black stands in the doorway. On his back there is a honed scythe, clearly made not for harvesting, but for slicing through sinew and bone like hot butter.

The figure swiftly walks forwards allowing the door to swing in behind him, approaching the barkeeper he lifts a hand to his hood and brushes it off his head. Beneath the hood lay a young man with long black dreads which settle on his shoulders interwoven with little brass and copper trinkets. His Gray eyes glare out at the room sunken into their sockets and the the entire left half of his face is distorted by a horribly deep puckered scar that extends from the top of his forehead and down his neck, disappearing into the black robes that enshroud the rest of his body. walking slowly up to the bar he buys a large tankard of strong mead and settles on the farthest table from the door gently nursing it as if he expects to be there for a while. His eyes focus on the door...

After a bit the door to the Draginn opens again. A tall slim figure steps in, shuts the door, and walks to the bar. Signaling the barkeep she says, "An ale." There is an air about her, noticeable to anyone watching, that indicates that she is from an aristocratic family. The tilt of her chin, the stern, almost imperious look in her glance. As she waits her fingertips tap a staccato beat on the countertop.

Soon after that the door opens once again, this time to the soft humming of a gentle, northern voice, robed in dark purple cloth trimmed in gold fabric carrying a wooden staff in one hand and a spell book in the other. The figure then walks over to the bar, asks for a tankard of the finest ale and some bread and cheese. he promptly pays up and walks over to an empty table, still humming the same tune that was audible upon his arrival, and begins to eat...

The door swings open yet again, and a figure covered in a long cloak walks in. He strides over to the bar, purposefully, but not hurriedly. He sits down and raises his head slowly, his face still hidden by the shadows of his hood. "A drink perhaps, barkeep?" He says, clearly stating a demand rather than requesting.

Askua will wait outside the tavern until an unsuspecting patron walks in then Asuka will slip in behind him, trying not to be noticed. However noticeable a short woman in a black cloak will be. She discretely walks up to the bar, slowly pull out a stool and asks ,in a faint voice, the bar keep for a diluted mug of ale. Discrete eyes notice a small dagger tied onto her outstretched forearm.

The barman, a rough man in general.
a Thick white, bushy beard and a pock marked face with eyes of deep blue.
He turns to Ebren and Tanitha,He responds with a rough voice:

"Hmph, at least you asked , rather than demanding.which is more that the others even tried... 5 silver. each. I am not in a good mood.Hand over the money first."
He spits on his cloth and starts slowly, yet methodically, wiping away non-existant dirt on the mahogany counter.

His ears perk up, and after hearing askua's request, Nods silently and knowingly and replies with a quiet
"Sure thing, love."
he makes his way over to the Ale.

Tanitha's eyebrow lift's even further at the barkeep's attitude. "How's business?" she asks drily. Her fingers stop their staccato tapping, one finger still raised as her eyes bore into the barkeep's. She glances quickly at the woman's reply and winks and then goes back to locking eyes with the man behind the counter.
