Akarrus stands up and heads to his room. Once there he locks the door and draws the curtains then he removes his mask and sets it down on the side table. He removes his armour and places it in the chest then he lays down and takes a nap.

Today you will meet a beautiful stranger. Actually hundreds of beautiful strangers. Everyone is beautiful and you know almost none of them.

The afternoon passed mostly uneventfully. Holdar enjoyed his bath immensely, and almost fell asleep after an hour. When supper rolled around, the young woman from before came up and notified the trio. They descended into the common room, and found it full of patrons, laughing and drinking, eating and playing dice games. Matthew was actively serving up drinks, while another young woman served the villagers sitting at the tables. Farmers enjoyed ale, while a carpenter and the general store owner chatted over a platter roast goose and brandy. The serving maid (one of the young women) directed the trio to be seated at an equal amount of empty bar stools, conveniently placed side by side.

"I'm starved! Haven't eaten a thing all day. What do you have for supper Matthew?" Lys asks with anticipation.

"I've got a couple of steaks cooking" he replies. "Would you like those? They're two gold each, with fixings and drinks."

Lys smiles apologetically at the innkeeper and says, "I'm just an acolyte Matthew. That's a bit beyond my means. Do you have anything else? And I really don't need anything to drink but water."

Well, I could get you a bowl of stew and a roll for five silver. Water's on the house."

"That would be wonderful. Thank you." Lys smiled, handing Matthew five silver from her belt.

"Daniel, one order of the soup please!" Matthew calls back into the kitchen. A moment later, Daniel strides out and sets a bowl of stew and a large roll in front of Lys, before returning to the kitchen.

Lys grins as the bowl of stew is placed before her. Stomach grumbling she lifts her spoon and begins to eat. The stew is savory, to her delight, especially so as she hasn't eaten anything since breakfast. Taking her roll she breaks off a small piece, dips it in the stew and eats it, enjoying the taste of the fresh baked bread. A swallow of cool water follows the morsel and so she continues eating, listening to the background noise of the common room and glancing from time to time at her surroundings.
