Not me! I can see in the dark! Hrothgar will have his maul out, mainly because I'm not sure how to sheathe a maul -- especially on a dwarf.

Jaq pauses on the landing, "Hrothgar, have you been able to deduce anything from the stonework as we've descended? Any idea how far down we've come?"

Great question! I defer to MedievalMan to tell us what I can discern.

"No, fellow Gemshort, this is anything but hell. The rock is cool, the air is fresh, and your soul is not eternally suffering for the sins you wrought while alive." He pauses for a minute, pondering if he is oversharing. "Besides, we still have ale."

To Hrothgars finely tuned dwarven senses, nothing seems out of the ordinary. The stonework appears to be of human quality craftsmanship and is quite old.

"Jaq, this stonework looks to be human-made. Average quality, and not that old. Well, old for humans but that's not saying much."

Sim strikes flint and steel and blows softly on his tinder to get to a light, then lights one of his torches.

"Here, who wants to carry this? I might need both my hands"

"I shall carry the torch."said Gladevar as he took the torch from Sim"One of us should investigate that room."

"Agreed." Hrothgar will cautiously go into the room.
