Wait.

Wait longer.

Wait a bit more.

Does anything happen, other than a lot of waiting?

No. Nothing happens.

Whew.

After an undeterminable amount of waiting (30 minutes) with no event, the party will attempt to do the same thing again -- head over to 11. Freya still in front, checking for traps. They'll especially carefully stop at the entrances to 5 and 6 to ensure no other creatures or traps exist. Freya will check traps the whole way. Still, lights out.

Sneaking down the main hall yet again, with Freya in the lead.

It's hard to keep it quiet with two humans on no light. But, nothing comes down from upstairs. Seems like no traps have been reset in the passageway leading up to room 6.

You are now in room 11. You know there isn't much here. A link to the last time you came this far:

Freya went down to the end of the tunnel north of room 12 and found that it was a hole in the ceiling of the room below. She smelled death. You also heard something shuffling about in the room ''below''.

Freya is sneaking ahead (30' as usual). She'll try to figure out a) how the creature below would get up; b) what it is. She won't be too brave about it.

It's below, we're above. Would it get to the same level by climbing a broken column, taking the stairs, no visible way between the two levels, ...?

This used to be a tiny narrow secret staircase inside a stone column - an incredibly elaborate bit of work by Dyson the Dwarven Engineer of Yore. The column has fallen down, and is lying in ruins on the floor.

That leaves a 3x3 hole in the floor of the upper level, and a drop of about 15' down to the floor below. Freya makes a tracking roll and sees no evidence at all that anything from below has climbed up here, at any time lately. She is very confident of that. She can no longer hear any shuffling noise, although the smell of death (a dead body?) is still in the air. She doesn't know what made the noise before, at all.

To get down safely, you'll need rope. Freya and Anna could probably swing an acrobatics roll (DEX 15) to tumble down, but everyone else wold just take 1d6+3 damage from jumping down. Plus, it'd be noisy.

Oh no, the party wants to sneak by, not go into the valley of death just to see what's there!

She'll beckon up the two dwarves, who will quietly look at the upper floor. It seems stable to both?

Yep, the floor is quite stable.

But, where are you going to sneak by TO? The hole in the floor is the only way to go in this direction. It leads to the pillar room - which is a sub-level of level 3 - not level 4. You know this, right?

Incidentally the small western side room (let's call it 12a) is empty).

Oh! Hah. I didn't know that at all. Looking at the map, the northern secret door appears to be the same level I'm on. You're saying that's really the level below?

Noo...that's the exact opposite of what I am saying. I think we need a new map upload. Hang on.
