Freya breath holds and leaps through what turns out to be a cloud of some kind of dust. She runs back down the corridor, with no ill effect apparent at this stage.
Can you tell me again exactly where you want to be? Right now, I have you a in a defensive formation in room 1, on level 2, just at the top of the staircase down to level 3. Freya in just in front, the dwarves have their bows out, then the human archers behind, then Tiana at the rear, about 5' down the staircase. Is that right?
There's too much movement going on in your group to listen closely, but many of you are aware of movement from beyond area 3.

Two columns, like before:
Tiana Talin Kilian
Freya Bruce
Freya carefully avoids looking at the dwarves as they hurry back to the stairwell. Once everyone regroups, they'll head back down the stairs and retreat from the area, hopefully in advance of the hobgoblins.
I have different plans if anything shows up though. The goal is to make a fast getaway, down to 6 below then south.

You all make it back down the stairs and into area 6, no trouble. You can spread out around the staircase if you want, or keep moving. There is definitely something happening up there. You'd guesstimate they are now in about area 4, on the level above you, by now.
Freya is beginning to get extremely itchy on her hands and a few other small exposed areas on her lower body. She guesses this was from some kind of powder from the broken container. She is really glad she held her breath. Breathing that in would have been horrible.
Your round.

Straight back to the secret passage, into the mirror, and rest for the night. They aren't ready to take on a hobgoblin clan quite yet.

Running south out of room 6 and through room 5.
It sounds as though whatever it is up there isn't moving as fast as you. Maybe they have stopped for some reason.
Running into room 2. A fair bit of noise is being made by various party members. You are aware of it but you can't do much about it.
Tiana casts Knock on the door, right? You already cast Web, so you are on 1 SP left I think. That takes a round. It still doesn't sound like the hobgoblins are in hot pursuit. You can still hear a bit of noise up there, though.
Closing the secret door as quietly as possible. Into room 1. You can't hear anything happening upstairs anymore.
Are you going to wait in here and see what happens, or are you going to go straight back through the mirror? It will take 3 rounds to all get in. You can do all this is quietness, now you are not running.
But...goblins are known to have pretty good hearing. It's up to you.

If they're being pursued, can Tiana cast a web in one of the passages (room 6's south corridor, for example; or the long corridor in 5) on the way? The goblins aren't so close they're within a round of the party, right? The web will slow them a bit.
IIRC Tiana is fully charged, and she is definitely saving two spell points for the knock. Sorry for making you check. /Really/ bad wifi out here in the desert. The last web I remember casting was with the mimic, and the party rested after that.

That's right - the mimic was yesterday. You have 3 sp left. My mistake.
You can't say 'if' you are being pursued. The answer is, you don't know.
You would have to retcon to cast web. Right now, you are in the secret room and you can't hear anything coming, although you have just closed the door.
Before you closed it, you could hear something, but you do not know if they were chasing you or not. You think they were still upstairs.
Do you want to retcon and say you cast web in one of the corridors? It will add an extra round on to your escape time. Probably not a big issue.
But, it will also make it very obvious that the thing they are chasing (if they are chasing it) isn't some ordinary dungeon denizen (like a mimic) that has set off their trap and alarm.
Your call.
If you decide not to retcon, you are still in the secret room, and you still have to decide if you are going into the mirror, or, keeping totally still and seeing what happens.

Sorry; sometimes tabletalk is faster than pbp.
Tiana has five SP left, of which two is in reserve for the knock? Right?
Tiana's level 1 web (animation), is that somewhat resembling of a spiderweb? I can't recall. You're right that a glowing plasma web looks a bit odd. Anna is pretty smart.

If it could look something like an almost normal spider web spun by a mysterious creature of the deep, then she will.
I don't want the whatevers chasing us into level 3, so the less easily they can get into level 3 to explore/track the party, the better.

Bzzzt....
Tiana's level 1 web (animation), is that somewhat resembling of a spiderweb?
Huh? You have no "1st level Web"! Read the 'animation' spell description. It's nothing like a web spell. It allows you to animate an unattended inanimate object, while you are looking at it.
Anna is pretty smart.
If it could look something like an almost normal spider web spun by a mysterious creature of the deep, then she will.
Tiana's Web spell is an invisible force cage, as we have discussed before. You can't change its appearance / function for each new casting. It is not an actual spiders' web but victims get a -2 save penalty because it is stronger than a normal web.
Your call. Do you cast your force web or not?

Ok, we shall stay T the original plan, except around 5's entrance to 2, Freya -- if she is feeling well enough -- will enter 2 last, to see if they were followed. Otherwise, 2 then lock the secret door. While in 2, they will listen intently to see if they were heard.
I think I left the other secret door open by 7, right? If so, I will need to send someone to close that.
