So, you're not following the human party? OK.

I'm not too fussed about encumbrance at this point just so long as you don't go overboard. I'm more concerned with money. Do you still have any?

Also - what are you doing about the treasure you found in the treehouse?

New thread time...post the note here, but any more gear-related replies in OOC.

If Tiana remembers anything about how to address druids or nature wizards, she'll use the appropriate title. Otherwise...

In Elvish and Sylvan:

Magus,

We have kept our promise to avoid the Lone Island, but there are events we think you should know. The nisha have been scared away from north of Tor Manis by our wyvern-poisoned arrows, yet the nisha leader still lives beyond Upper Leakey and strives to enter Malagosbe by way of the Cogan. We head there in the morrow to discover more. If you wish to know more of the nisha and their plans, send word using the eagles.

Humans have taken the watchtower and have plans to move further east. I fear the human church will not befriend the good Cruthy. We have not told the church about the lycanthropes but they must know of the nisha by now. The rangers also know of the nisha. We have warned Red Oak not to come south of the Swell but humans are adventurous folk, and Ser Bors is foolhardy. If he discovers the road to Widow's Peak, he will likely bring troops to assault the nisha.

The nisha have been kidnapping humans and forcing them into servitude. Two of our folk have been afflicted, one by a chance bite; the other under duress of death. An elven sage mentioned a herbal remedy may exist. Kilian, a dwarf, no longer shows symptoms at the full moon, though we do not know if he has been cured. Jane, a human female, has recently been infected and wants to be cured. If you can help, we would greatly appreciate it.

Brother Alfyl and Roddy can attest to our goodwill. We wish no ill will of the forest or the good denizens within.

Meanwhile...

Finally, we be aheadin' on a proper adventure now. Bruce, ye ready to see the dwarfish architecture of ye forebears? And ye got any skill in engineerin'? We might be needing to shore up some of them passageways or tunneling our own path to this dwarven highway. It'll be good to get back underground, away from all this leafery and citydwellin'.

(curse is in dwarfish) Gravelfind! Ye humans will need light. Ach, dat be a lot of oil to carry. Lessee... a pint be good fer tree hours, so dat be eight pints a day. Six days underground, that now be a quarterbarrel a week. Ye want to be two weeks, dat be at least a halfbarrel. Dis is gonna be expensive.

"What about torches?" asks Freya.

Oil? Hm. Dat be almost as good as lanternlight. Torches be bulkier to carry but be good on spiderwebs. Tiana, pass me ye quill. I'll make a shoppin' list for ye."

100 torches = 100gp
20 weeks of iron rations = 200 gp
Crowbar = 3gp
12 iron spikes = 1gp
4 pony kegs = 8sp
Helmets for anyone who doesn't already have one = ?
If Bruce claims to know about engineering (and what kind of dwarf doesn't?! Oh right, a humanized city dwarf!), then another 6gp if he doesn't have it.
OUCH!

Note the lack of oil :)

If anyone else has suggestions, now is a good time!

Tiana will also send another encoded mail to her father and Ember, describing what she has learned about the nisha and their plans to head toward the Cogan. Ember once mentioned that lycanthropy can be controlled by medication. Does she know the recipe?

And still going at the Nisha moot hex. OK.

You leave the note in a bundle, and the eagle stares at for a while and then flies away. Then it comes back about twenty minutes later and flies down to retrieve the bundle and flues off again.

Then it comes back about forty minutes later with another larger bundle and drops it ion the ground. Ablfyn seems amazed by this behavior. It is around the time he leaves, saying he's worried the eagles might make a meal of him.

I am presuming you open the bundle. It turns out to be trapped with a 25HD fireball and you all die. Muwahahahaha.

Actually it's a note, in Common (Brant), just like the last one.

See notes from eagle guy, above.

In other news.

No, Ember would not know lycanthrope cure. You think the herbs she was talking about were the drug used to control the symptoms, not a cure.

Shopping list looks fine to me.

The books Tiana looked at were in Brantish, and they were trash. Except the manuscript, which is in Sader and code, and would need Talin to study it for a while if he has decided in that language.

I'll leave dealing with other treasure up to you...

Another note!

Magus,

Twice we went to the pass you mentioned, and twice we were chased away at the castle by its denizens. The first were worgs and goblins, and the second also had a creature we've never seen outside these woods. We call it a gump, which can stun with their looks (insert image of gump here). We nearly lost two of our party to one of them. We think the Cu Shen can clear out the Castle Coote, but have had no luck communicating with them.

Beyond the pass lies a vale with a lake, and a smoky mountain. We encountered wyverns, which slayed one of our party. We turned back, being encumbered and low on food.

We will try to get to the castle in our next foray east. If we learn anything, we will try to get you a missive by your eagles.
