The hills in hex E16 is a different color. Is that intentional?

No. It's just the map programme is a bit buggy.

Common typos my phone makes:
Freya -> Frets
Freya -> Greta
Kilian ->
Tiana -> Piano
Talin -> Stalin

Stalin!
Fancy, I'd pictured him and Fido as quite strapping and heroic.

Haha! The image didn't render before. Let's just say uh no and leave it at that.
What is the advantage of a two EP mark a trail stay? I don't see a difference between walking to the mountains at one ep or two

If you keep going at 1EP there is a chance you will get lost - especially if you do stuff like break camp at night!
Going at 2EP means that is far less likely to happen.
In your previous adventure you were nearly always going at 2 or 3 so I rarely bothered to check to see if you got lost.
(For the record - you very nearly got lost just now.)
You can see the mountains to the east so you will always know roughly which way you are going, but, you might lose track of which hex you are in, and not be able to find your way back through familiar territory.

Aah. No getting lost. 2EP it is. I'll update my travel plans.
What does "getting lost" mean when we have mountains to head east with? It means I think I'm in H15 (as an example) but really in H16?

Yes, that's the sort of thing that could happen on this tableland. In the mountains proper, getting lost could be worse. Also, you can't map as effectively when you are lost, and you can't make trails as easily, or remember what way you have come, so exploration will be more difficult.
I read your post and gave you a full day at 1EP! I don't want to undo that now. Can you stick with it? You did OK.

Yep, that's fine. I will confess to either still learning the rules or being an idiot, but not both.
