"Brother James, I will feed you once we get you settled for the night. Surely you haven't forgotten your training to the point you can't survive without food for a week?"
That's both a weak attempt to find out if he's either a monk of level 6+ and can do such things, he's a fallen monk and once could do such things but now can't, or never made level 6 as a monk. :D In fact, why is he not gagged? Ravoneth will redo his gag so he's no longer talking.

If it's not too late to refuse the meal, can I:
"Thank your master, but that's much too rich of fare for the likes of our palates. If it's all the same to you and your master, we'd do better with some bread, fruit, and another mug of the water."

Once James gets incarcerated in that holding cell, Ravoneth will relax a little bit.

((Does the lady cleric have a name?))

Giovanni watches the woman saunter over to the bar and wonders how his luck has changed for the better so quickly...Good Food, Good Spirits and a damn good woman..

((Insert bad guys making him re-think this thought here))

Rykken tries to quietly get Giovanni's attention and whispers "Do you know who she is? She seems to know a lot about...all of us. I would hold off on that drink if I were you."

Rykken leans back and tries to recall if he has seen this woman, or the three men at the bar, before, and if so, where. He will also try to surreptitiously examine the men to see if he can spot any identifying marks or other recognizable signs that might reveal their true intentions. He tries to keep a close eye on both the group at the bar as well as the woman at the table. He mentally readies himself to cast a spell should the need arise.

You can indeed refuse the meal and have what you like. The steward will take the plate away and two men at arms will come and escort BJ to the holding cell. It is quite secure. Do you plan to sit outside the cell or go into the tavern area and dine?

Oh man you are about to fall into a terrible trap if you don't remember her. She is the same lady cleric that... ahem... entertained you some weeks ago in Waterdeep. I'll roll some dice for you. *rolling* Hehe. You seem to recall her name started with an "S", Ste-something or other, perhaps Stefain.. maybe with an "a" in the somewhere else..... or maybe an "ie"..... Heck it might have been a "T" name... Tanya?... Tiffany...???? Something for sure with an "eff" sound in the middle.... *Laugh* Good luck man! The dice are unkind at the moment.

((I as a player has made the assumption that Oypeen recognizes the female dwarf as the one who met up with Giovanni in the Yawning Portal and according to the report from our street urchins had a raucous great evening together in the woman's room. If that is a wrong assumption let me know.))

Oypeen clandestinely watches the 3 men at the bar to see if they are making eye contact with any others in the bar, especially with the woman dwarf cleric. Otherwise he just enjoys his meal and drinks his wine casually to accent the food rather than to get hammered.

*dice rolling* Rykken recalls seeing this lady some weeks ago in the Yawning Portal (the inn where you all started the descent into Undermountain) and he remembers that Giovanni went with her, against the advice of Opyeen, to her room for the evening. The CoS cleric came down the following morning appearing less than rested but in high spirits. As for the men at the bar there is nothing to indicate who they work for or any telling clues about them. To be honest they seem to be dressed and armed almost identically. They could blend into any tavern anywhere and not stand out at all.

She's no dwarf. She is simply a 5 foot tall human female cleric who happens to be rather in good shape for her size. (Just for fun I modeled the character after my IRL wife who is 5' tall, 117lbs and a power lifter. The tattoos and description in the original meeting between her and Giovanni are accurate. I needed a female character and was out of ideas.) But yes she is the same one had a great time with Giovanni.

Oypeen sees Ryken comiung up empty on the woman's name and leans over and whispers, "Her name is Stephanie."

And allow Brother James to leave my sight? Not even for the meals in... um... some fancy place that Ravoneth hasn't been to yet. :)

She will feed James, and show some compassion about it. She'll make sure he gets his fill first, and insist he eats fruits as well as nuts and bread. Once he's done, she'll check his binds are tight, the gag replaced, and his knees hobbled.
